Bachelor of Education (Arts)

Subjects on offer include: Literature / English /Mathematics / History /Geography / Kiswahili /Business Studies / Religious Studies / Computer Studies

Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Diplomacy

Mode of Delivery
The programme is offered during the Day (8.00 am to 5.00pm). The programme is spread over eight trimesters. Â
Tuition Fee
Tuition fee per trimester is Ksh. 70,000 excluding statutory fees . Â
Who is eligible to Apply?
To obtain admission to this programme, a candidate must satisfy one of the following requirements:
a. Be a holder of KCSE with at least C+ (plus) aggregate;
OR
b. Be a holder of KACE certificate with minimum of two principal passes and one subsidiary pass or its equivalent;
OR
c. Be a holder of IGCSE Certificate with minimum Five Credits or equivalent international qualification ;
OR

Universities are the highest learning institutions in Kenya and the World over. They offer training majorly in undegraduate and Post Graduate Studies. In Kenya, the Courses offered in the Universities must be accredited by the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Services, KUCCPS. It is the same body that selects and places students to higher learning institutions; Universities, Colleges and Polytechnics. To qualify for University placement one must attain the minimum set Mean grade and particular course requirements. Each Course offered at particular university has its own cluster cut off points, though. Most university courses take a minimum of 4 years; while, some take even more. An academic year at the university takes two semesters of three months each. University students get fees loans from various organizations. Top on the list is the Higher Education Loans Board, HELB, that advances both loans and Bursaries. Universities run online platforms; portals and websites, where such services as admission application, online accommodation booking, E-learning, exams results downloads and many are provided to students, staff and the general public. On admissions, most universities have admissions in May and September for new students. Various learning modules are provided at the universities. These learning modules include: Full time, School Based, Distance Learning, Evening & Weekend classes and E-Learning.

Doctoral Degree A holder of a Masters degree from a recognized institution in an area or subject relevant to the proposed area of study

– Diploma or professional certificate in a relevant discipline from an institution recognized by the University Senate.
– Advanced Diploma in a relevant field, applicant must have an ordinary Diploma from a recognized institution.
– Pre-University certificate with a mean of C+ (plus) and above from a recognized institution, and must have scored a C in KCSE or its equivalent.

Admission Requirements

ADMISSION OF STUDENTS

The admissions office is in the academic affairs department. The office is mandated to receive, process, and dispatch admission letters for eligible applicants. Kisii University offers various courses, at different levels ranging from certificates to PhD. Students interested in full-time, evening and weekend modes of study can apply for January, May and September intakes. Those interested in school based programs can apply for April, August and December intakes.

Application forms are obtained from the admissions office at the main campus or from our campuses across the country. They can also be downloaded from our website >>application forms . The duly filled forms should be accompanied with relevant certificates, a passport size photo and an original bank in pay slip for a non-refundable application fees. The application fees is kshs. 2,000.00 for Degree and enhancement programs, Kshs. 1,000.00 for Diplomas, Kshs.500.00 for certificates and bridging programs. The filled forms can be returned to: The Registrar Academic affairs, Kisii University P.o. Box 408-40200 Kisii. They can also be dropped at the admissions office at the main campus or at any of our campuses countrywide.

BACHELOR OF EDUCATION (SCIENCE)

This curriculum is for the Science Teacher Education program. This program was established at Kisii University in response to the continued need for qualified graduate Science Teachers in the Secondary Schools and tertiary institutions. This program is planned in line with the requirements of the current secondary school curriculum. The Bachelor of Education (science) degree. The program is practical oriented in nature, in keeping with practical and vacation of thrust of the current educational system.

RIARA UNIVERSITY COURSES

Bachelor of Education (Arts)

Subjects on offer include: Literature / English /Mathematics / History /Geography / Kiswahili /Business Studies / Religious Studies / Computer Studies

Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Diplomacy

Mode of Delivery The programme is offered during the Day (8.00 am to 5.00pm). The programme is spread over eight trimesters. Â
Tuition Fee Tuition fee per trimester is Ksh. 70,000 excluding statutory fees . Â
Who is eligible to Apply? To obtain admission to this programme, a candidate must satisfy one of the following requirements: a. Be a holder of KCSE with at least C+ (plus) aggregate; OR b. Be a holder of KACE certificate with minimum of two principal passes and one subsidiary pass or its equivalent; OR c. Be a holder of IGCSE Certificate with minimum Five Credits or equivalent international qualification ; OR d. Be a holder of Diploma in International Relations and Diplomacy of Riara University with a GPA of 2.00 (C) or equivalent qualification from an institution recognized by CUE. The University admits students in the month of January, May and September each year.
