Manchester united recorded a terrific 3-1 loss away at West Ham, in London, on Saturday afternoon in an English Premier League clash.
The win handed West Ham their first ever win at home, this season.
It is West Ham who drew first blood in the fifth minute via Felipe Anderson. Anderson flicked past De Gea after a low cross from Zabaleta!
The lack lustre united squad found themselves, two goals down with to minutes to the break. Andriy Yarmolenko’s shot was deflected into the net by Manchester united’s defender, Lindelof, in the 43rd minute for an own goal. The game went into the break with West Ham two goals up.
West Ham’s Marco Arnautovic completed the route by striding through on goal and coolly slotting home in the 74th minute.
Manchester United’s consolation came in through Marcus Rashford who brilliantly sent a back-heel flick into the net for a 2-1score line in the 71st minute.
It was another pretty frustrating game for Manchester’s Romelu Lukaku who mustered just three touches inside West Ham’s area in the f
Manchester now lie 7th in the log with 10 points from 6 matches.
Jose Mourinho made four changes to the Manchester United side that drew with Wolves last weekend, as Ashley Young, Nemanja Matic, Scott McTominay and Anthony Martial earn starts.
Alexis Sanchez and Jesse Lingard were absent from the squad completely, as Marcus Rashford returned from suspension to take a place on the bench.
Three back-to-back victories had seemed to bring Manchester United back on track but troubles in the dressing room have started to pour out of control.
Amid poor relationships between Paul Pogba and Jose Mourinho, United were held to a disappointing 1-1 at home to new boys Wolves and were then knocked out of the Carabao Cup in a penalty shootout to Championship side Derby.
The under fire Manchester United boss had this to say on his team’s overall performance, today: “I can have complaints with quality and mental approach. You have to try always and that is my nature as a football professional.”

With the government recently increasing and introducing new taxes, common Mwananchi is feeling the heat. From increased costs of living and taxes to spiraling corruption, the angry Kenyans cannot hold back their feelings any more! We sample some of the comments as posted by Kenyans on various social media platforms:
Most Kenyans feels that the number of legislators is over exaggerated and are giving various proposals on reducing the numbers:
1. @sabasmagige:
My take on this #WanjikuReferendum .First things first
1. Scrap anything by the name of NOMINATED.
2. Scrap off the WomenRep, MCAs and MPs Position- They are good for nothing really.
3. Remain with 47 senators
4. Do away with 47 governors and remain with the former 8 provinces
2. @migunamiguna says:
Dishonest, hypocritical and cowardly Kenyans must know that a country cannot grow and prosper with the kind of stupidity and permanent lies being peddled in the mainstream and social media. All our so-called leaders are organised criminals. Let’s deal with that once and for all.
3. @benjindolo says:
Magufuli is in New York with a delegation of 7 guys, Uhuru is in NY with a delegation of 70. He likes to ask, mjinga ni nani?
4. @pilycarphinga Proposes:
5. @kenny_jameson:
That’s the referendum we want. Kenya is so small for 47 Governors. We also ask for scrapping of county assemblies and reduce the numbed of MPs to 290 plus 35 nominated MPs, senators to be 10 and scrap the women representatives’ seat.
6. @polycarphinga:
We should set salaries for the positions we retain, eg Governor: 300k, MP: 200KShs, MCA: 70Kshs and make sure these people know the salaries they are vying to get.
There way too many Wanjikus (Common Kenyans) and their sons out here who can do the job for much less than we are paying.
7. @lazooj is of the opinion:
ON GRAND CORRUPTION
Gutted Kenyans have this to say:
1. @elijah1334:
Uhuru this, Uhuru that! This is useless. The Kenyans who President Uhuru Kenyatta has chosen to lead in various positions are the ones misleading us.. Check how various ministries are pilfering finances! Kenyans, your fellows are eating you. Open your eyes.
2. @nyandiga001 says:
We could reduce the counties from 47 to 8 but if we have 8 governors operating like Ruto then we shall not have solved the problem. The problem is corruption not governance structure
3.Kenyan budget in summary
4. @Koigi wa Wamwere:
Those blaming the constitution for our economic headwinds are being economical with the truth! currently, less than 15% of the last audited accounts is what is being given to the counties. Our problem is reckless borrowing and grand theft!
The Third Way Alliance is pushing for Constitutional review, ostensibly, to reduce the number of legislators. Will it see the light of day or will the politicians block it. For now it is a wait and see scenario as Kenyans struggle with hard economic times!

The Ministry of Devolution and Arid and semi ASAL areas has introduced stringent rules to cut on unnecessary travel expenses by Members of County Assemblies, MCAs, and County Executives. The ministry through the Principal Secretary, PS, Charles Sunkuli wrote to all county secretaries and clerks of county assemblies giving new directives on how to cut foreign travel costs. The raft of measures introduced by the Ministry include:
This comes after top government officers were caugth on camera sitting pensively and passively as their foreign counter parts wrote key points during a trip by president uhuru Kenyatta, few months ago.
But, in a letter signed by the Council of governors’ chairman, Hon. Josphat Nanok, and addressed to all governors and the Devolution CS, the Head of Public Service, and Foreign Affairs PS, the Governors have angrily castigated this latest move. A summary of the Governors’ response:
The governors have asked the Devolution and ASALs Cabinet Secretary, Hon. Eugene L. Wamalwa, to immediately withdraw the letter on foreign travel.
The foreign trips by MCAs and County Executives had drawn mixed reactions from Kenyans, with most terming them wasteful and unnecessary.

Nairobi County Governor, Hon Mike Sonko, has offered 150 buses to ferry fans to watch the Harambee stars versus Ethiopia African Cup Of Nations, AFCON, clash on Sunday 14 october 2018. Through a press statement, Hon. Sonko says: “The decision was reached following the national government ‘s decision to allow Kenyans to watch the Sunday game (October 14, 2018) free of charge.” The presser, dated 11/10/2018, was written by Mr. Elkana Jacob, the Director of the Governor’s Press Service.
Earlier, today, the Ministry of Sports announced that there shall be no gate charges for the all important clash, on Sunday. Kenya will book a ticket to next year’s AFCON finals if they beat the Ethiopians, on Sunday. Governor Sonko’s gesture ‘is in a bid to support Sports culture in the country and ensure Kenyans are able to cheer their team to win the match against Ethiopia’.
The security sector should now come up with elaborate plans and measures to prevent crowd trouble due to inflated numbers of Kenyans expected to throng the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, on Sunday. Elsewhere, the Harambee Stars Kipper, Victor Wanyama, has passionately rallied Kenyans to come out in masses to support the local boys. He says if Kenyans create an atmosphere like that witnessed in Ethiopia for their team, on Wednesday, then the Stars will definately carry the maximum points from Sunday’s match.
