    TSC to hold a Teachers’ Open Day in September 2019; Here are the venues and full details

    The Teachers Service Commission, TSC, will be holding countrywide open days for teachers on Wednesday September 25, 2019. The Commission organizes the event annually so as to meet and sensitize teachers on policy matters and new developments in the teaching profession.

    To ensure that learning is not interrupted, the Commission has directed the TSC County Directors to procure venues in other areas; away from learning institutions. The Commission has given direction that the event will not be conducted in any Primary or Secondary School. The Directors of the hosting Counties are requested to identify venues in Teachers Training Colleges, Public Stadia, etc to conduct the event,” reads a memo from the Commission dated 10th September, 2019.

    Firs Ever Teachers’ Conference

    On June 21st and 22nd this year, the Commission held its first ever Teachers Conference since 1967. The conference, christened  “The Teacher as a resource; Quality and Utilization” brought together stakeholders with an aim of understanding the challenges teachers are facing in their line of duty. The two-day event held at the Kenya School of Government (KSG) in Kabete, Nairobi was attended by education officials from across the continent.
