Yes, but admission is subject to meeting the specific course requirements, the competitiveness of the program, and available bed space at that campus. KMTC has over 70 campuses spread across 44 of Kenya’s 47 counties.

3. Does KMTC recruit students via WhatsApp or personal emails?

No. All official admission letters and communications are processed through the official portal or your registered email address. Be vigilant against scammers on social media asking for money to secure an admission letter.

4. How can I log in to the student e-learning platform?

The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) Nyamira Campus is set for a major infrastructure expansion following a commitment by H.E. President Dr. William Ruto.

The President announced that the campus will benefit from the construction of hostels with a capacity of 580 students, 20 classrooms, and five laboratories to support training.

Speaking on Monday, April 13, 2026, during the commissioning of an affordable housing project at the campus, Dr. Ruto reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC).

“Achieving UHC will not be possible without health professionals. We require more nurses, radiographers, and other health cadres,” said the President.

He noted that expanding training infrastructure is key to producing a skilled health workforce.

“To have the best skills, you need adequate classrooms, hostels, and laboratories. It is for this reason that we are investing in these resources,” he added.

The President further committed to the expansion of Nyamira County Referral Hospital, which will serve as a clinical placement site for KMTC students.

While highlighting progress in the housing sector, Dr. Ruto noted that the Government will intensify efforts to deliver on its affordable housing agenda.

The President was accompanied by Deputy President H.E. Kithure Kindiki, Cabinet Secretary for Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development Hon. Alice Wahome, and Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards Ms. Mary Muthoni, among other leaders.

Students at the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) are set to benefit from education funding following proposed reforms in tertiary education financing.

The Ministry of Education has tabled the Tertiary Education Placement and Funding Bill in Parliament, which seeks to merge the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), the TVET Fund, and the University Fund into a single entity to streamline student support.

Speaking on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, during the commissioning of the Affordable Housing Project at KMTC Nyamache Campus, H.E. President Dr. William Ruto directed the Cabinet Secretary for Education, Hon. Julius Ogamba, to ensure KMTC students are included in the funding framework.

“As you work around the Bill, ensure that KMTC students receive an allocation for the next semester,” said the President.

CS Ogamba confirmed that the Bill is currently before Parliament, awaiting deliberation, noting that it proposes funding support for all tertiary and university students, including those at KMTC.

The President also announced that the Government will allocate additional resources towards the recruitment of staff for the College.

The Affordable Housing Project on campus will provide accommodation for 340 students, enhancing the learning environment and student welfare.

KMTC to recruit additional lecturers to strengthen training capacity

The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) is set to recruit additional lecturers to improve student-to-staff ratios and enhance the quality of training.

The government is prioritising the expansion of the healthcare workforce as part of efforts to achieve Universal Health Coverage (UHC).

H.E. President William Ruto said the government will allocate resources in the next financial year to support the recruitment of lecturers.

“For us to effectively realise our UHC agenda, we will require more health professionals. This can only be achieved when we have adequate lecturers to train our students,” he said.

The President noted that the College has already made progress in staff expansion, with 600 personnel recruited in 2025 following a presidential directive.

The Presidnt was speaking on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, during the official opening of KMTC Gucha Campus.

Dr. Ruto, who is on a meet-the-people tour of the Gusii region, also announced a series of development projects for KMTC campuses. These include the construction of affordable housing units at Nyamache and Nyamira campuses, as well as the development of lecture halls to support academic programmes.

KMTC welcomes new students for the March 2026 intake

The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, commenced the reporting of new students for the March 2026 intake across campuses nationwide, marking the start of a new academic journey for thousands of aspiring health professionals.
Speaking on the exercise, CEO Dr. Kelly Oluoch confirmed that the College had put in place the necessary arrangements to receive the students, with a total of 21,774 expected to be enrolled.

“All campuses are fully prepared to receive the new cohort, with orientation programmes and support services already in place,” he said.

Dr. Oluoch noted that the reporting process has been staggered throughout the week to enhance efficiency and improve service delivery.

He reaffirmed the College’s commitment to equipping students with the knowledge, skills, and professional values required to serve communities effectively.
The CEO further indicated that the College is working closely with the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) to facilitate the release of admission letters for the first revision, which closed on March 13, 2026.

Across campuses, students began reporting as early as 6.00 a.m., eager to begin their training at the College.
At the Nairobi Campus, the reporting exercise was characterised by a steady flow of students and guardians, with administrative teams facilitating registration and onboarding processes.

“I am excited to join the mighty KMTC. I have been looking forward to wearing this uniform, and I am glad the day has finally come. I look forward to completing the reporting process and settling into my room. This will be my home for the next three years,” said one excited student.

Nairobi Campus Deputy Principal, Academics, Mr. Willy Bett, assured students of a supportive and conducive learning environment.

“We are delighted to receive our new students. Our faculty and staff are ready to guide them through a transformative academic journey that will prepare them for the demands of the healthcare sector,” he said.

How to Pay KMTC Fees (2026 Official Method)

KMTC processes all payments exclusively through the Jiunge Platform, which integrates with the government paybill number 222222.

Step-by-step payment process:

  1. Visit jiunge.com and click on “Pay Fees”
  2. Sign up and verify your account via email
  3. Log in using the OTP sent to your email (expires in 30 seconds)
  4. Search for “Kenya Medical Training College”
  5. Enter your registration number and click “Add”
  6. Click “View Services” then “Tuition Fees (Tap & Pay)”
  7. Enter the amount and choose your payment mode (M-Pesa or bank)
  8. Confirm and initiate payment with your M-Pesa PIN

Instalment option: Students may pay in two instalments — a first instalment of KES 129,700 on or before registration, and KES 124,000 on or before commencement of the second semester.

How to apply for KMTC Placement via KUCCPS

Placement for regular KMTC Students in done by Kuccps. Applications are done online via the KUCCPS student portal (students.kuccps.ac.ke). You can apply for pre-service, upgrading, and higher diploma courses. Ensure you meet minimum entry requirements, select courses using program codes, and pay the application fee.

Steps to Apply for KMTC Intake (KUCCPS Method)

    1. Log In: Go to the KUCCPS portal and log in using your KCSE index number, year, and password.
    2. Navigation: Select ‘KMTC Programmes’ to view available courses and requirements.
    3. To Apply:  Go to the ‘KMTC Application’ tab, enter the program codes, and submit
    4. Pay: Follow the prompt to pay the application fee of  Kshs 1,500
