TSC vacancies 2022 – Requirements, How to apply

The Teachers Service Commission, TSC, has advertised 2,945 vacancies to replace teachers exiting service through natural attrition.

Of the advertised vacancies 2,053 posts for primary schools and 892 posts for secondary schools. The teachers recruited will serve on Permanent and Pensionable terms of service.

Requirements for employment

To qualify for recruitment, a candidate should meet the following basic requirements:

  1. Be a Kenyan citizen;
  2. Must be a holder of a P1 certificate in the case of primary schools and a minimum of a diploma in education in the case of secondary schools;
  3. Must be a registered teacher with Teachers Service Commission. Mode of Application

Interested and qualified candidates should submit their applications online through the Commission’s website, www.tsc.go.ke under ‘Careers’ or teachersonline.tsc.go.ke not later than 1st February, 2022.

General Information

Please note that:

  1.  The Teachers Service Commission Recruitment Guidelines 2021/2022 FY shallapply.
  2. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
  3.  In the case of primary schools, successful candidates will be posted to serve in any part of the country where vacancies exist and not necessarily in the county where they were recruited.
  4. Shortlisted candidates will be required to produce original professional and academic certificates;
  5. Successful candidates must not fill more than one Application for Employment Forms. Filling of two or more Application for Employment Forms will lead to disqualification;
  1. Preference will be given to applicants who have not previously been employed by the Teachers Service Commission;
  2. Manually filled applications will not be accepted.

Individual candidates can check their KCSE results by sending an SMS with their full index number (11digits) followed by the word KCSE. The SMS can be sent from any subscriber’s line (Safaricom, Airtel or any other) to 20076. For example, send the SMS in the format 23467847002KCSE to 20076. There should be no space left between the index number and the word KCSE.

One can also download the whole school’s KCSE results by Visiting the Official KNEC exams portal; https://www.knec-portal.ac.ke/.  This one requires the school’s log in credentials.

Finally, candidates can visit the school for their results. This is usually a day after the results have been released. It is important that you check your result slip to ensure there are no errors on it. Be keen to see that details such as your name, index number and sex are accurate. In case of any discrepancy, please notify your principal or KNEC immediately for correction.

THE KENYA NATIONAL EXAMINATIONS COUNCIL
INSTRUCTIONS TO PROSPECTIVE APPLICANTS FOR THE TEACHERS AND TEACHER EDUCATORS TRAINING IN COMPETENCY BASED ASSESSMENT

The Kenya National Examinations Council is mandated to set and maintain examinations and assessment standards for school, post-school and teacher education levels. The Council endeavours to build the capacity of teachers and teacher educators in assessment so as to maintain standards and ensure effective assessment of learner competencies.

In view of this, the Council wishes to invite qualified teachers and teacher educators to apply for training in the development of quality test items for effective implementation of Competency Based Assessment in Basic Education and teacher training levels. Trained teachers and teacher educators could be engaged by KNEC as contracted professionals from time to time as may be necessary.

Qualifications

Applicants wishing to be considered for this training must meet the following minimum requirements:

  1. Have unquestionable and irreproachable
  2. Be a professional or expert or subject specialist in the field or subject/learning area for which he/she wishes to be trained.
  3. Must be teaching the subjects/learning areas applied for in
    • Primary School – Grades 4, 5 and 6
    • Junior School – Grades 7 and 8
    • Teacher Training Colleges; DECTE and DPTE
    • Intermediate and Prevocational Level of the Stage Based Pathway
  4. Have the relevant academic and professional
  5. Be conversant with the content of the curriculum designs in their subjects/learning areas of
  6. Have a teaching experience not less than 3 years.
  7. Must be registered with the Teachers Service Commission.
  8. Must be recommended by the head of institution

NOTE:

  • Applications should be done through the link https://nac1.knec.ac.ke/examiners on or before 29th March 2024
  • Applicants should read the instructions, provide all the information required and upload the necessary
  • Documents should be uploaded as one continuous PDF
  • Only successful applicants will be notified through their phone/e-mail contacts
  • Teachers who have previously been trained by KNEC in Item Writing should not apply.

APPLY FOR TVET BURSARIES FROM THE HIGHER EDUCATIONS LOANS BOARD, HELB, TODAY

TVET BURSARIES

Students pursuing Diploma and Certificate courses in Public universities, university colleges, public national polytechnics and Institutes of Technology and Technical Training institutes country-wide are eligible for this loan and bursary. Orphans, single parent students and others who come from poor backgrounds will be given priority for the loans and or bursaries.

Required Documents

1. Applicants should access and fill the relevant TVET Loan & Bursary Application Form (TLAF) at the HELB website.

2. Print TWO copies of the duly filled Loan Application Form.

3. Have the TVET Loan Application Form signed and stamped by the Dean of Students/Financial Aid Officers.

4. Retain one copy of the duly filled TLAF (Mandatory).
Drop the TLAF personally at the HELB students Service Centre on the Mezannine One, Anniversary Towers or any of the SELECT Huduma Centers nearest to you.

KCSE 2024 Timetable free download; See major changes

KCSE TIMETABLE -2024

The Kenya National Examinations Council, KNEC, has released the 2024 KCSE timetable. In a bid to curb exam cheating, the council has made major changes; more so on the timings of the second papers.

Here is a summary of the changes:

KCSE Exams will now  start at 8:00am and end at 4:00pm. Previously, the exams could start at 8.00am and end at 2.00pm.

RANG’ALA BOYS HIGH SCHOOL’S KCSE PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS

The school has maintained a good run in performance at the Kenya National Examinations Council, KNEC, exams. In the 2019 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education, KCSE, exams the school posted good results to rank among the best schools in the County. This is after recording a mean score of 5.2 (C plain).

KCSE 2019 national results and ranking per subject- English

Alliance Girls High school posted an English mean of 9.63 (B+ plus) to lead in the 2019 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination. The Kiambu based girls’ only national school took position six (6) in the overall ranking with a mean score of 9.92.

Moi Kabarak High School and Maseno School clinched second and third positions, respectively, in the English national ranking.

KNEC invigilation, supervision- CP2 portal

The Kenya National Examinations Council, KNEC, has contracted over 286,000 professionals to administer this year’s KCPE and KCSE examinations this year.

The contracted professionals include: centre Managers, supervisors, Invigilators and Security Officers.

The contacted professionals can now log onto the KNEC portal and download their deployment letters.

The Kenya National Examinations Council has posted the list of selected invigilators and Supervisor(s) for particular Centres/ schools on the school’s account in the portal.

Center managers (school heads/ Principals) can now be able to log onto the portal and check the list.

The contains the names of the centre Supervisor or Invigilator), their Gender, and National Identity Card (ID) number.

In the portal, the council has also posted the Examination Centre details (Centre code and name), Location of center, Examination materials Distribution Centre Details, Distance from the Distribution Centre and the registered number of Candidates.

The list of the contracted professionals can be accessed using step by step procedure below:

• Enter the User Name (Starting with KCSE Centre code) and password (Specific to each center and held by the center manager).

• Input the approximate distance between the center/ school and exam distribution center.

• Then log onto the center’s account.

KNEC Contracted professionals

KNEC contacted professionals can log onto the system by using individual log-in credentials.

Once logged in one can preview/edit his or her personal data; Telephone Number, KRA PIN, Highest Qualification, Workstation, and Sub-County.

How to download the KNEC contracted Professionals’ letters

• Log onto the KNEC contracted professional’s portal by using the link; https://cp2.knec.ac.ke/Professionals.

• Click on the ‘Dash Board’ tab and check under deployments. See the Centre where you have been assigned to execute your duties.

• Under the ‘Actions’ column, click on the ‘Download Appointment Letter’ link to get your letter.

How To Reset Your Password

In the event you forgot your password, it is easy to get a new one. Just click on forgot password, enter your mobile phone number in the format 2547… and click on ‘Reset Password’. You would receive new login credentials from KNEC on your phone via an SMS.
