How KCSE exams are marked

The Kenya National Examinations Council, KNEC, adopts different grading system for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education, KCSE, examinations. The grading varies as per the candidates’ performance for a particular year.

  1. 90% is too low for an A plain in CRE; 96% is fine a start!! At least 88% for subjects of the likes of Geography. I have no comments for History;the participants have to fill the gaps for themselves!!!

  2. humanities should be balanced.. learners select them bcoz they know them..why show that some subjects are hard by lowering marks and highering the grade..let’s equalize all sciences.

  3. It is no wonder performance in biology and agriculture was dismal in the whole country, the grading used were too high, need for fairness in all subjects, otherwise some subjects will die naturally.
