As the deadline approaches, KUCCPS sends out an urgent request for applications.
KCSE students who want to apply for degree or TVET programs have a seven-day application window, according to the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS). Applications must be submitted by April 30, 2025.
Students have been encouraged by KUCCPS to apply before the deadline. When the deadline expires, the gateway will shut, preventing procrastinators from submitting their applications.
Degree program applications are available to individuals who took the 2024 KCSE exams. Students who took their exams between 2000 and 2024, however, are eligible for TVET programs, which include diplomas, certificates, and artisanal courses.
The application procedure also includes teacher training colleges (TTCs). But only candidates who took their exams between 2000 and 2024 and are looking for teaching courses at certain institutions are eligible for these.
Degree programs, according to KUCCPS, are only open to individuals who earned a C+ or above on their KCSE tests. For pupils seeking degree programs, this is a really important piece of information.
The low number of applications has caused concern for the placement agency. As of April 17, more than 100,000 students who met the requirements for university entrance had not yet applied.
In order for students not to miss out, KUCCPS Director of Placement and Career Development John Oluoch advised them to act fast. He pointed out that over half of those who qualified had not yet submitted their applications.
The notice serves as a reminder for students to apply right away, especially since the portal will be closing shortly. KUCCPS stressed that students should not wait until the last minute to apply in order to prevent any technological problems when accessing the site.
Following officials’ observations that many students are waiting until the last minute to submit their applications—which may result in unneeded stress—the agency is now urging people to apply on time.
With the deadline quickly approaching, KUCCPS is encouraging applicants to finish their applications as soon as possible in order to guarantee their spot in the programs they want. On April 30, 2025, at midnight, the application procedure will come to an end.
