Robert Lewandowski’s performance record in the Bundesliga

Bayern Munich is the flagship of German football, which has confidently held this title for several decades in a row. You can follow the today scores of duels involving this club and its rivals on the sports statistics website. Here, every Munich game is covered in as much detail as possible.

There are many stars in the Bayern squad, but Robert Lewandowski stands out against their background. The Pole can be safely called the main scorer of Munich since the time of Gerd Muller. He joined the team in 2014 from Borussia Dortmund, and cost the team nothing.

At Bayern Lewandowski quickly adapted and immediately began to send goals to the opponents’ goal in rows. All this is not only today, but has long had a positive effect on the scores of games with participation of the Munich club.

Only in his first campaign with Munich, the Pole scored less than 40 goals. In the rest, this indicator has always been higher. However, we are talking about all tournaments, not just the German championship.

In the Bundesliga, Lewandowski was able to establish a unique record. In the 2020/21 season, the Pole scored 41 goals and thereby surpassed the record of the legendary Gerd Muller, who had previously scored 40 times in the opponents’ goal. His achievement lasted almost 50 years. But the Polish striker managed to break this record and write his name in history.

It should be mentioned that such an achievement was submitted to Robert already at the age of 32. Many thought that after 30 his scoring achievements would begin to drop. However, it turned out to be different. Thanks to hard work in training and a special diet, Robert managed to make impressive progress. He has been holding a stable bar for several seasons in a row.

The reasons for Lewandowski’s successful game

Impressive personal achievements of the Pole can hardly be called a sensation. He has been in plain sight for a long time, and the Bundesliga results of his team are another proof of that. Since Lewandowski’s arrival, Bayern have consistently won the national title.

It should be noted that the Pole’s unique scoring achievement was made possible thanks to:

  1. Excellent teamwork and coordinated actions with partners. They regularly supply Robert with transmissions, which he converts into new effective actions.
  2. Experience and ability to choose a position in the penalty area. It is from this zone that Lewandowski most often hits the opponents’ goal.
  3. Excellent speed and play on the second floor. Lewandowski can score in different styles.

All this not only has a positive effect on the results of his team in the Bundesliga, but also allows to count on individual awards. In particular, at the end of the 2020/21 season, the Pole received the Golden Boot as the top scorer of the European championships.
