There are about fourteen (14) County schools in Garissa County. These schools are either Mixed or Single.County schools are the third best schools after National and Extra County schools.
The County schools admit students majorly from within the County. Admission of form ones is via the Education Ministry’s Portal. Calling letters to these schools are downloaded from the Ministry’s website;https://www.education.go.ke/index.php/online-services/form-one-selection

Performance in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education, KCSE, exams is one of the criteria used to determine whether a school is good or not. Other criteria are: Availability of adequate Learning-Boarding facilities, discipline and staffing in the school.
