The Ministry of Education has announced new term dates for the 2020 academic year. In a circular dated 6th September, 2019 , and written by the Principal Secretary, Dr. Belio R. Kipsang, all pre-primary and Primary schools shall open 0n 06/01/2020 for term one. Secondary schools shall also re-open on the same date.

In the Circular sent to all Regional Directors of Education, there shall be 14 weeks in both term one and two for Pre-Primary and Primary schools; a similar number of weeks will be applied in secondary schools. All half terms shall now be at the same time for both Primary and Secondary schools. In a new development half terms for both term one and two have been reduced by two days each to presumably recover the days lost in term 3, this year. This is after the opening date for term three was pushed ahead by one week to allow smooth execution of the 2019 National Housing and Population Census exercise.

Just like it was this year there will be no half term break in third term of 2020.

Here are the 2020 term dates for schools.
