Fuel prices increased; New petrol, Diesel and Kerosene prices announced for May- June, 2019

The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has increased price of all fuel products in its latest review. This means that motorists will dig deeper into their pockets to meet the new fuel costs. But, the largest loser is the common commuter who will bear the full brunt of the fuel prices’ increase as fare costs may shoot up.

In Nairobi, super petrol will be retailing at KSh 5 more while diesel and Kerosene increase by KSh 2.24 and KSh 2.40 per litre respectively.

In the Capital City, Nairobi, a litre of petrol goes up from KShs 106.60 (in April) to Sh 112.03 in May, 2019. While, a litre of Diesel will trade at Kshs 104.37; up from the Kshs 102.13 in April. Kerosene users haven’t been spared either as a litre will now go at Kshs 104.62 as opposed to the Kshs 102.22 in April.

In Mombasa the new pump prices will be Kshs 109.38, 101.75 and 101.99 for Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene respectively. The new prices will be in force for a period of one month; from 15th May, 2019 to 14th June, 2019. See the new fuel prices across major cities and towns, in Kenya;

New Pump prices announced; Super Petrol drops by Kshs. 4.57, Kerosene by Kshs. 6.61 per litre.

The Energy Regulatory Commission, ERC, has today announced new pump prices which will be in force from 15th December 2018 to 14th January, 2019. Via a presser released today, the ERC says the decrease in pump prices has been occasioned by reduction in fuel products at the global market. “Taking into account the weighted average cost of imported refined petroleum products, the changes in the maximum allowed petroleum pump prices in Nairobi are as follows: Super Petrol, Diesel & Kerosene decreases by KShs. 4.57, KShs. 0.55 and KShs. 6.61 per litre respectively,” says the ERC.

NEW PETROL PRICES:

A litre of Petrol will trade at Kshs. 110.91 in Mombasa, Kshs. 113.54 in Nairobi, 114.02 in Nakuru and Kshs. 115.01 in Kisumu. The commodity will be most expensive at Mandera where a Litre will now cost kshs. 126.39.

NEW DIESEL PRICES:

It will now cost you Kshs. 112.28 per litre of Diesel in Nairobi. The same commodity will be sold at Kshs. 109.66, Kshs. 112.96, Kshs. 113.96 and Kshs. 113.95 in Mombasa, Nakuru, Eldoret and Kisumu respectively.

The new prices are inclusive of Value Added Tax (VAT) at 8% in line with the provisions of the Finance Act of 2018.

ERC reviews fuel prices upwards

The Energy Regulatory Commission, ERC, has calculated the maximum retail pump prices of petroleum products, which will be in force from 15th March to 14th April 2019. The maximum allowed petroleum pump prices in Nairobi are as follows: Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene increase by Sh. 1.26, Sh. 0.65 and Sh. 2.96 per litre respectively.

Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene will retail at Sh. 101.35, Sh. 96.61 and Sh. 99. 46 respectively in Nairobi starting midnight.

Diesel drops by a ‘massive’ Kshs 10 as ERC reviews fuel prices

The Energy regulatory commission, ERC, has announced new pump prices, today. In the newly released prices, Super petrol has been reduced by Kshs 9.33, Diesel by Kshs. 10.04 and Kerosene by KShs 3.52 per litre.

A litre of Super Petrol will now trade for a high of Kshs 101.60, 104.21, 104.73, 105.74 and 105.73 in Mombasa, Nairobi, Nakuru, Eldoret and Kisumu respectively.

The changes in this month’s prices have been as a consequence of the average landed cost of imported Super Petrol decreasing by 14.87% from US$ 694.18 per ton in November 2018 to US$ 590.92 per ton in December 2018.
