Reigning Western Region Secondary Schools’ Basketball champions, Sigalame Boys, have produced the highest number of students with direct entry grades to University from Busia County. Sigalame have 140 students scoring C+ (plus) and above from the 2018 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations. The school that has been nominated to compete for the Sports Personality of the Year awards (SOYA) surprised many by booking a ticket to East Africa games on their maiden appearance at the National secondary schools’ games. Coming second is Butula boys with 108 students with university direct entry grades, followed by Nangina girls with 84 students.
