Gor Mahia Coach, Dylan Kerr, resigns

Kenya Premier League champions Gor mahia have announced the resignation of coach Kylan Kerr. In a statement on the official Gor Mahia website, the club says Kerr has resigned to take up another coaching role elsewhere.  Club Chairman, Ambrose Rachier, has confirmed receipt of the resignation letter from coach Kerr. His last assignment was when he led the team to a defeat against Everton in the Sport Pesa cup, recently.

The timing of this resignation is unfortunate since Gor Mahia is preparing to face Malawi’s Nyasa Big Bullets in the Confederation of African Football, CAF, champions league’s preliminary stage; in a fortnight.

Coach Kerr has been the fans’ favourite, throughout the season. Below, photo shots from Gor Mahia’s recent visit to Everton, in England.

The club chairman now says they will not be in a hurry to get Kerr’s replacement.

Gor Mahia to face off with Kariobangi, tomorrow, in the KPL super cup

2017/2018 season’s Kenya Premier League (KPL) champions, Gor Mahia FC, will face off with Kariobangi Sharks in the Kenya Premier League Super Cup tomorrow (2nd Sunday December, 2018). Kariobangi Sharks who are the 2018 SportPesa Shield winners beat Sofapaka 3-2 in a thrilling final played at the Kasarani Stadium on 20th October, 2018; to win their maiden shield Saturday.

Tomorrow’s KPL Super Cup clash will be live on KTN Kenya Burudani TV. Gate charges Ksh 500 for each VIP ticket and Ksh 200 for a terrace section ticket. The match will kick off at 3.00pm, local time.

The match was earlier rescheduled to Saturday 1st December but after the two clubs agreed, Sunday was seen as an appropriate day and venue be at Kasarani as opposed to Machakos as earlier planned.

he two teams will be traveling to away Confederation of Africa Football’s (CAF) club  assignments on Monday, 3rd December 2018.

Kariobangi Sharks vanquish Gor Mahia to lift the KPL Super Cup

Kariobangi Sharks are the new Kenya Premier League. KPL, Super Cup winners. Kariobangi Sharks defeated Gor Mahia by a solitary goal to win the 2018/19 Kenyan Premier League (KPL) Super Cup in an high octane match played at the Moi International Sports Centre, MISC , Kasarani on Sunday 2nd December, 2018.

Kariobangi Sharks’ Youngster Sidney Lokale, who had come in just after the break, scored the all-important goal in the 52nd minute. Nixon Omondi picked him up with an incisive pass from the left flank and the former Nakuru AllStars striker tricked two Gor Mahia defenders before coolly slotting past Boniface Oluoch for the winner.

Sharks coach William Muluya lauded his players for the win saying it has set the tempo for a good season ahead.

“We had a good tempo and worked hard for the win. Credit goes to the players, they badly wanted the win. This is very good for us as it sets the pace for what promises to be a tough season.” He said after the match.

Gor Mahia will have to up their game if at all they want to retain the Kenya Premier League Title in the new season, 2018/2019.
