TPD TRAINING – DECEMBER 2022 INTAKE

Mount Kenya University (MKU) is an Accredited Service Provider by Teachers Service Commission to implement the Teacher Professional Development Programme (TPD).

MKU invites all registered teachers by TSC in both public and private schools to enrol for the programme. December 2022 Intake is ongoing and the training will be conducted from Tuesday 13^th December 2022 to 17^th December 2022.

8. Subsidized e-Learning bundles: MKU has partnered with Safaricom to enable learners to purchase subsidized monthly data bundles (10 GB @ Ksh. 500 to access online learning and e-resources.

Mode of delivery

The TPD programme is delivered through modules using Competency-Based Teacher Education model. This is offered in a Blended Learning approach,  (face-to-face and Online learning)  where the teachers and instructional leaders access the online training any time, anywhere via modern technologies. These blended mode is strengthened through follow-up observation visits to schools by the Univesity facilitators, Community of Practice networks and lesson study.

The APP will allow easy application and students onboarding process with the following features;

· Communication, Feedback and progress monitoring.

TPD training Fee Payment

Each teacher will be required to pay a maximum fee of Kenya Shillings 6,000 per year to take part in the training. Payment can be done either through;

1. Mpesa: Pay Bill-Business Number 4078701,    Account number-“your TSC Number” or

2. Deposit at Equity Bank, Account Name: Mount Kenya University Teacher Professional Development, Account Number: 1550281262747. Use your TSC number as reference.
