Science, Technology and Innovation- Important information for exhibitors and innovators on the upcoming National Science week

Introduction

The National science week, NSW, is a vibrant expression of the cultural importance of Science and Technology of a nation. The aim of the NSW is to engage the Public and Showcase how RST & I provide solutions to transform lives.

It gives Scientists, inventors and Researchers a chance to interact closely with students and members of the Public from all walks of life.

The importance of the NSW is to help youth develop 21st Century skills, with focus on Scientific knowledge, creativity, critical thinking, problem solving and team work through the enhancement of Science, Technology, engineering and Mathematics (STEM) programmes.

Objective.

The Main objective of the 8th National Science week is to provide a forum to showcase and engage stakeholders in Research, Science, Technology and Innovation (RST & I) as a contribution towards building partnerships and transforming society.

Sub- Themes

1). Sub-theme 1: Promoting STEM skills for job creation and economic empowerment
2). Sub-theme 2: Research for Policy development
3). Sub-theme 3: RST & I for entrepreneurship and market linkages
4). Sub-theme 4: Collaborations and Partnerships for advancing RST & I.
5). Sub-theme 5: women in Science.

Exhibition dates: 5th to 9th August, 2019.

Exhibition Venue: Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) Nairobi.

Submissions Key Dates

1). Deadline for submitting abstracts: 15th July, 2019.
2). Deadline for receiving full papers and write-ups on exhibition and innovations: 25th July, 2019.
3). Notification of acceptance of Exhibitors: 20th July, 2019.

Charges

Applicants for exhibitions and innovations will be expected to pay the fees as indicated below; Fee payment deadline is 10th July, 2019. The Exhibitors booths to be provided measure 3 x 3 square Metres.
1). Registration amount for individuals: KES 5,000 (59 USD)
2). Registration amount for Institutions: KES 10,000 (118 USD)
3). Registration amount for Non East Africans: KES 20,000 (235 USD)
