Former Garsen Member of Parliament Danson Mungatana.

Former Garsen MP Danson Mungatana has lost his wife, Violet Mungatana. Mrs Violet died while undergoing dialysis at Coptic hospital .

Born in 1970, Mungatana who is a renowned lawyer was first elected to Parliament as a MP to Garsen Constituency in 2002 on a Narc-Kenya ticket as one of the four directly elected MPs. He was again reelected in 2007.

In 2017, Mungatana came fourth in the Tana River County Gubernatorial race. In 2013 Mungatana eyed the same seat on TNA but lost to Hussein Dado of the Wiper democratic movement.

In his message of condolence, the Deputy President Dr William Ruto wrote;
“Condolences to family and friends of former Garsen MP (Member of Parliament) Danson Mungatana following the death of his wife, Violet Mungatana. She was a devoted family woman; kind and welcoming, who stood out for her generosity and warm heart. Rest In Peace.”

Mungatana is also said to be married to TV icon Mwanahisa Chidzuga.
