Road carnage menace- 2 teachers, husband and wife, among those who lost lives at the Friday evening grisly road accident at Kapmakaa

Two teachers, a husband and wife, were among the 9 who perished in a grisly road accident at Kapmakaa; along the Kericho-Nakuru Highway on Friday evening after a tanker and a 14-seater matatus collided. The accident occurred at around 1745hours on Friday. It involved a 14-seater matatu and a truck which was ferrying gas from Kisumu to Nairobi. According to the Kericho OCPD Justus Kitetu, the truck was descending using a climbing lane when the accident occurred.

The matatu belonging to South Rift Shuttle was heading towards Kericho while the tanker was on its way to Nakuru.

It is now emerging that two of those who perished were teachers; a married couple. Mr. Musonick Kipkoech (a teacher at Uhuru Secondary school ) and his wife Mercy (also a teacher) were travelling in the ill fated Matatu when tragedy struck. Below, photographs of the two teachers (courtesy);
