2. GRADE 10 REPORTING DATE IN 2026

The 2025 Grade 9 learners will get their Kenya Junior School Education (KJSEA) results by 11th December, 2025.

Making the revelation, Basic Education Principal Secretary (PS) Julius Bitok also said the KJSEA candidates will also know the senior schools they have been placed to before Christmas with students reporting to their new Grade 10 senior schools on 12th January.

The announcement come after the Ministry of Education opened a second window for the KJSEA candidates to revise their career pathway choices.

According to Dr William Sugut, the head of the Directorate of Secondary Education, 596,000 learners selected STEM, while 437,000 chose social sciences and 124,000 opted for arts and sports.

Education Cabinet Secretary, Julius Migos, had said the learners will have their KJSEA results this December but did not specify the date.

Already Knec invited teacher examiners for marking of the KJSEA papers with multiple choice questions and those involving creative writings.

However the CS said just like KPSEA, no certificate will be issued to the KJSEA candidates but a report which shall be used for senior school placement.

He noted that under CBC, learners will only be issued with one certificate after final Grade 12 assessment.

The certificate will be known as Kenya Certificate of Basic Education (KCBE) and will mark end of basic education learning.

The first selection of senior schools was done from 1st June to 15th July. The candidates sat for the KJSEA that ran from 27th October to 3rd November.

Schools are required to use their school Knec centre code as username and passwords that were provided to login to the Grade 10 selection portal.

However this exercise will be tricky as the KJSEA candidates are now at home and schools are closed.
