When getting started with online betting, beginners should understand how to read betting odds and pick the right sports and betting sites. Reading this guide will help novice bettors learn how to get started with online betting in Kenya.
Understand How Betting Odds Work
Understanding how betting odds work is one of the most important steps. High-rated betting websites like Captainsbet Kenya https://captainsbet.xyz/ use the decimal odds format, which is easier to understand than other formats. With this option, you multiply your bet amount with the odds to calculate your win. For example, if you bet Ksh 300 on an event with fractional odds of 2.0, multiply 300 by 2. A winning bet will reward you with Ksh 600. The higher the odds, the bigger the payout. You should also study fractional and moneyline odds in case you want to use them.
Identify Your Favourite Sports
Before registering on a betting site in Kenya, bettors should also identify the best sports to bet on. Football is the most popular choice, but Kenyans also enjoy betting on other sports such as rugby, basketball, and athletics. Your favourite sport is most likely the one you enjoy watching, so you should consider starting with it if you have never placed bets before.
Choose a Reputable Betting Site
Another crucial step is to choose a reliable betting site like Captains Bet Kenya. The choice you make will determine your overall gambling experience, so you must consider the most important factors. Bettors should keep the following features in mind to pick the right bookmaker:
- A valid gaming licence
- Security features such as HTTPS and SSL
- A wide range of sports and betting markets
- Competitive sports betting odds
- Welcome bonuses, free bets, and odds boosts.
- M-pesa and other secure payment methods
For the betting licence, please check the platform’s footer section or “About Us” page.
Register and Claim a Bonus
Once you understand betting odds, choose your preferred sports, and find a safe betting site, the next step is to register and claim a bonus. Go to the selected betting website and click the “Register” button. Enter your details and verify your phone number or email. After that, choose your preferred payment method in the “Deposit” section and follow the instructions to deposit funds. You can now use the money to claim your free bets and matched deposit bonuses.
Start Betting on Your Favourite Sports
Finally, go to the “Sports” section and choose your favourite sport. Choose a pre-match or live event and place your bet. The “Bet Slip” will display your selections and payouts. If you win, navigate to the “Withdrawals” section and choose a secure banking option to withdraw.
Conclusion
Getting started as a sports bettor in Kenya is easy and legal if you are 18 years or older. You only need to know how sports betting odds work, pick the right sports based on your preferences, join a safe sports betting site, and place your bet.
