Equity Bank donates water tanks, lockers, and desks to schools

The Equity Bank has donated water tanks, lockers, and desks worth Sh.500,000 to St. Charles Lwanga, Chaani, and Kwa Hola Primary Schools in Changamwe Constituency.

The donation has not only brought a profound sense of relief but has also rekindled renewed optimism among parents, devoted educators, and eager students alike.

The driving force behind the benevolent donation was Equity Bank Coast Regional Manager, Joseph Ndungu.

He not only spearheaded the donation exercise but also delivered an inspirational commitment that touched the hearts of many learners.

“The Bank is committed to ensuring that no brilliant student is denied the chance to pursue higher education due to financial constraints.”

Ndungu assured class eight candidates that the Bank would provide full scholarships to the most deserving students coming from underprivileged backgrounds, offering a ray of hope as they prepare to sit for the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examinations.

To augment the Presidential directive on tree planting, the Bank has planted 9,400 trees in Changamwe Constituency schools to mitigate against adverse effects of climate change.

“We have initiated a tree-planting programme in various schools nationwide, contributing to our environmental conservation efforts,” said Ndungu.

Changamwe Member of Parliament (MP), Omar Mwinyi, challenged local leaders in Mombasa to allocate funds for the support of underprivileged families within their communities.

“We must ensure that these families are able to meet the basic needs of their children,” he said.

The MP, a teacher by profession, encouraged teachers to transform the schools they serve since they are the “engines of driving the learners to realise their dreams”.
