Teacher Training Colleges (TTCs) in Kenya are tasked with preparing educators under the upgraded curriculum frameworks. Following the implementation of the Competency-Based Education Curriculum (CBC/ CBE), these institutions primarily offer the Diploma in Primary Teacher Education (DPTE) and Diploma in Early Childhood Development Teacher Education (DECTE), replacing the old Certificate (P1) qualifications. They are regulated by the Ministry of Education and accredited by the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA) and the Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA).
