CAF cancels the Kenya vs Sierra Leone match, the Stars now at the verge of Qualification to AFCON- 2019

An Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, Qualifier pitting Kenya’s Harambee Stars against Sierra Leone has been called off by the Confederation of African Football, CAF. The match was scheduled to be played at the Moi International Sports Centre, MISC,  Kasarani on Sunday, November 18, 2018.

The Football Federation of Kenya, FKF, reports that CAF sent a letter suspending the clash. “In a letter from the Continental governing body’s Competition’s Division, CAF cited a suspension on Sierra Leone by World Governing body FIFA, noting that the status of the group will be communicated once the Executive Committee takes a final decision on the matter,” says FKF.
The letter is signed by CAF Competitions Division’s Khaled Nassar.

Kenya sits at the summit of group F with 7 points and indeed has a clear chance of making it to the AFCON finals next year (2019) in Cameroon.

Kenya last participated at the continental show piece back in 2004.
