TSC introduces a new T-pay portal for teachers’ payslips (https://tpay.tsc.go.ke/)
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has introduced a new payslip portal for teachers. You can now access your TSC online payslip at https://tpay.tsc.go.ke/. You will still use your TSC number and password as used in the old T-pay portal; payslip.tsc.go.ke/. In case you have forgotten your password, then you can easily reset it.
HOW TO REGISTER FOR TSC ONLINE PAYSLIPS AND THE LOG IN PROCESS AT THE NEW T-PAY PORTAL
To get your payslips online, you must first be registered. Initially the process was done online but, now you must visit your local TSC County office for you to be registered. To log into your T-pay account all you need is your TSC Number and Password.
Once registered you can then proceed to log into the T-pay system to view your payslips and P9 forms. The system also provides a function for teachers to send their latest pay slip to 30 parties such as banks, Saccos, among others, to facilitate acquisition of a loan.
Once logged in, you can perform the following operations:
- View your payslips,
- Get you P9 form for filing KRA returns,
- Send your payslips to financial institutions (banks and SACCOs),
- View your third party transactions and
- Change your Payslips password.
NEW MENU INTRODUCED ON THE T-PAY PORTAL.
The Commission has introduced new menu in the T-pay portal. The ‘My Documents’ tab is one of the new menu introduced on the much improved payslips portal.
The new T-pay menu is very user friendly and contains the following menu:
HOW TO DOWNLOAD YOUR PAYSLIP.
Once you log into the new T-pay system, you may need to keep a copy of your payslip. Simply click on ‘Latest Payslip’ to see the recent payslips (payslips for four months are displayed). To save a copy of your payslip, then, take a screenshot of the payslip. Similarly, click the ‘Print’ tab at the bottom of your payslip.
You can also search for previous payslips by using the ‘Search T-pay menu items’ tab. Then, click the ‘view payslips’ sub-menu.
By using the ‘View P9(s)’ sub menu, you can now access your P9s for the last three years with a lot of ease.

HOW TO RESET YOUR T-PAY PASSWORD.
Did you forget your TSC password? Have no worries. You can also easily reset your T-pay password. This can be achieved by following the simple steps below;
- Visit the payslips portal at; https://payslip.tsc.go.ke/
- Click on the ‘Forgot password’,
- Fill in the required details; (TSC Number, Select the secret question, provide the answer, enter your phone number, email and password)
- The click ‘Reset Password’.

Please, do not disclose your TSC Payslip password to anyone. So many teachers have ended up losing financially by meeting third party deductions (insurance and loans) which they are not aware of.
DETAILS ON THE NEW TSC PAYSLIPS
You may be wondering what the various acronyms, appearing on your payslips, represent. Here is a guide to the abbreviations used on your payslip.
SWAs
This is the short form of Social Welfare Associations. They form part of the third party deductions and include BBFs (Burial and Benevolent Funds), SACCOs and Teachers’ Unions. For deductions to these third parties to be effected, you must authorize them, online.
Provident Fund
This shows the amount you are contributing to the new Superannuation pension scheme.
Ins-P
This is a short expression for Insurance Provider. Some teachers have registered with private insurance companies and remit funds to them via the TSC check off system.
Sac-L
An acronym for SACCO Loan. This is the amount of salary committed to offset a SACCO loan.
Com-L
This means Commercial Loan. Shows the amount of salary slashed to offset a commercial bank loan.
Sac-S
The funds checked off a teacher’s salary on monthly basis towards his/ her savings at the SACCO.
TERMS OF SERVICE
A teacher is either on Permanent and Pensionable terms (P&P) or on Probation (Prob). Whichever is appropriate will be shown on your payslip.

OTHER ACRONYMS ON YOUR TSC PAYSLIP
Here is a list of other short forms appearing on your payslip:
- PAYE Auto; The monthly Pay As You Earn (PAYE) deductions.
- MPR; This is the amount of Monthly Personal Relief (MPR).
- NHIF Contribution; Monthly statutory deductions towards the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF). This affects all government employees.
- PF Num; Your Personal File Number which is your TSC Number.
- RoD; The date when you are expected to attain the mandatory retirement age.
- Designation; Your job grade i.e Secondary Teacher II..
- ID Num; Your National Identity Card Number.
- Tax PIN; Your KRA PIN.

- Visit Official TSC Website
Click the official T-PAY link below to access your TSC online payslip.
- T-PAY TSC Payslip Login Window
Next, you’ll see the new TSC Payslip Login window as per the image above.
- Enter your Username
Next on the screen, type in your Username. This is your TSC Number.
Enter your Password
Enter the TSC online password for your T-PAY portal account.
If you have forgotten it, see the way below to reset password.

Unusual salary deductions on TSC payslip
Follow the steps below if you note any unusual salary deductions on your payslip:
- Access the login window at https tpay.tsc.go.ke (T-PAY portal).
- To view your payslip, go to Latest Payslip option of the menu.
- Download the new TSC payslip or print tab of your choice.
- Highlight the unusual salary deductions on the payslip and provide supporting evidence e.g. Insurance premiums.

The Teachers Service Commission, TSC, payslip is a monthly generated document that shows the much a teacher earns. The payslip is generated from the TSC payroll and can be downloaded from the TSC payslips portal (T-pay) by using the address https://payslip.tsc.go.ke/.
The payslip contains such crucial information as the teacher’s monthly gross pay, allowances and deductions. deductions from teachers’ pay include: Statutory deductions (like Pay as you earn -income tax, National Hospital Insurance Fund- NHIF) and third party deductions.
Teachers remit various amounts to third parties that include teachers’ unions, SACCOs and other deductions. The difference between third party deductions and statutory deductions is that third party deductions are not necessarily mandatory while statutory deductions are mandatory.
You can for example opt out of a deduction towards a Burial Benevolent Fund (BBF) but the same can not happen for individual income tax.
COMPLETE DETAILS ON THE TEACHER’S PAYSLIP
YOUR payslip contains basic information as: the month and year, TSC Number of the teacher, Teacher’s name, Teaching Station, Retirement date, The teacher’s job group/ grade/ designation, ID Number, KRA Tax PIN, the employment terms (either probationary or permanent & pensionable) and the number of years to retirement.
Other details shown on the payslip are: The paypoint (Bank or SACCO name through which salary is remitted), Basic Salary, Allowances (Rental House, Commuter, Special, Hardship as appropriate), Total earnings, Third party deductions (Loans, insurance, medical cover, PAYE, NHIF and other deductions from the teacher’s gross pay), total deductions and then the teacher’s net pay for that particular month.

TEACHERS SERVICE COMMISSION, TSC PAYSLIP, ONLINE
Your TSC Payslip for this Month has now been posted online. You can log into your T-Pay account to view and download your payslip. Enter your TSC or ID number as the user name and your password in order to log in and view your payslip.
If you have forgotten your password, then click on the ‘reset password’ to generate a new password.

TSC posts March payslips online, opens the payroll T-pay portal
TSC PAYSLIPS ONLINE – The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has posted the March payslips online and open the payroll portal. You can now access your TSC online payslip at https://tpay.tsc.go.ke/.
You will still use your TSC number and password as used in the old T-pay portal; payslip.tsc.go.ke/. In case you have forgotten your password, then you can easily reset it.
It is important that you download your payslip so as to monitor deductions and in case you see a ‘foreign’ third part deduction, then, you can stop it immediately. Also, watch out for double deductions. There are teachers who have had their salaries slashed for union dues and agency fee.
You can also now be able to send your payslip online to any third party organization; since the T-pay portal is open.
HOW TO REGISTER FOR TSC ONLINE PAYSLIPS AND THE LOG IN PROCESS AT THE NEW T-PAY PORTAL
To get your payslips online, you must first be registered. Initially the process was done online but, now you must visit your local TSC County office for you to be registered. To log into your T-pay account all you need is your TSC Number and Password.
Once registered you can then proceed to log into the T-pay system to view your payslips and P9 forms. The system also provides a function for teachers to send their latest pay slip to 30 parties such as banks, Saccos, among others, to facilitate acquisition of a loan.
Once logged in, you can perform the following operations:
- View your payslips,
- Get you P9 form for filing KRA returns,
- Send your payslips to financial institutions (banks and SACCOs),
- View your third party transactions and
- Change your Payslips password.
NEW MENU INTRODUCED ON THE T-PAY PORTAL.
The Commission has introduced new menu in the T-pay portal. The ‘My Documents’ tab is one of the new menu introduced on the much improved payslips portal.
The new T-pay menu is very user friendly and contains the following menu:
HOW TO DOWNLOAD YOUR PAYSLIP.
Once you log into the new T-pay system, you may need to keep a copy of your payslip. Simply click on ‘Latest Payslip’ to see the recent payslips (payslips for four months are displayed). To save a copy of your payslip, then, take a screenshot of the payslip. Similarly, click the ‘Print’ tab at the bottom of your payslip.
You can also search for previous payslips by using the ‘Search T-pay menu items’ tab. Then, click the ‘view payslips’ sub-menu.
By using the ‘View P9(s)’ sub menu, you can now access your P9s for the last three years with a lot of ease.

HOW TO RESET YOUR T-PAY PASSWORD.
Did you forget your TSC password? Have no worries. You can also easily reset your T-pay password. This can be achieved by following the simple steps below;
- Visit the payslips portal at; https://tpay.tsc.go.ke/
- Click on the ‘Forgot password’,
- Fill in the required details; (TSC Number, Select the secret question, provide the answer, enter your phone number, email and password)
- The click ‘Reset Password’.

Please, do not disclose your TSC Payslip password to anyone. So many teachers have ended up losing financially by meeting third party deductions (insurance and loans) which they are not aware of.
DETAILS ON THE NEW TSC PAYSLIPS
You may be wondering what the various acronyms, appearing on your payslips, represent. Here is a guide to the abbreviations used on your payslip.
SWAs
This is the short form of Social Welfare Associations. They form part of the third party deductions and include BBFs (Burial and Benevolent Funds), SACCOs and Teachers’ Unions. For deductions to these third parties to be effected, you must authorize them, online.
Provident Fund
This shows the amount you are contributing to the new Superannuation pension scheme.
Ins-P
This is a short expression for Insurance Provider. Some teachers have registered with private insurance companies and remit funds to them via the TSC check off system.
Sac-L
An acronym for SACCO Loan. This is the amount of salary committed to offset a SACCO loan.
Com-L
This means Commercial Loan. Shows the amount of salary slashed to offset a commercial bank loan.
Sac-S
The funds checked off a teacher’s salary on monthly basis towards his/ her savings at the SACCO.
TERMS OF SERVICE
A teacher is either on Permanent and Pensionable terms (P&P) or on Probation (Prob). Whichever is appropriate will be shown on your payslip.

OTHER ACRONYMS ON YOUR TSC PAYSLIP
Here is a list of other short forms appearing on your payslip:
- PAYE Auto; The monthly Pay As You Earn (PAYE) deductions.
- MPR; This is the amount of Monthly Personal Relief (MPR).
- NHIF Contribution; Monthly statutory deductions towards the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF). This affects all government employees.
- PF Num; Your Personal File Number which is your TSC Number.
- RoD; The date when you are expected to attain the mandatory retirement age.
- Designation; Your job grade i.e Secondary Teacher II..
- ID Num; Your National Identity Card Number.
- Tax PIN; Your KRA PIN.

TSC new T-pay portal (tpay.tsc.go.ke); How to register, login, download payslips and reset forgotten passwords
TSC Latest News- The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has issued guidelines on the new Tpay system. This is after the commission moved teachers from the former payslip.tsc.go.ke/ to the new portal at tpay.tsc.go.ke.
Newly employed teachers who are not yet registered on the TPAY system can register
at the County Office.
HOW TO RESET YOUR T-PAY PASSWORD.
In an event you forget your T-pay password, you have no reasons to be worried. Remember, you can reset your Tpay password by using the simplified steps below;
- You access the TPAY portal and click on the “Reset Password” button.
- You will then be prompted to enter your TSC number and click on the “Reset
Password “button. - From the “Reset Password “window you will be prompted to enter an “OTP (One Time Password) Code “that they receive via their mobile, “New Password “and confirmation of the password.
- Once done with the step above you can now login and access their TPAY account.
NB: Always remember to keep your passwords confidential.
