APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR MANAGER AND GENERAL MANAGER POSITIONS:

Candidates interested in the above positions must submit the following:

GENERAL MANAGER (SOCIAL SECURITY)

Reporting to the Managing Trustee, the General Manager (Social Security) will be expected to provide strategic direction and policy guidance on all matters relating to Social Security. He/She will oversee the operations of the Registration & Compliance, Benefits, Member Records and Marketing & Customer Experience functions of the Fund ensuring the availability of required knowledge, skills and tools within the departments so that assigned managers are able to deliver on their roles by developing and managing the Human and other resources effectively.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Formulate and ensure implementation of leading social security administration strategies that will drive up member registration and improve collections;
  • Provide input into development of the Fund’s strategy, including any action plans and budgets;
  • Set departmental goals and providing necessary direction within the Division;
  • Keep abreast of local and global leading practices and trends and making recommendations to the Managing Trustee/CEO and departmental heads on how this impacts the Fund;
  • Develop and implement strategies that will ensure that ensure that the Fund’s social security offerings are in line with member requirements and drive the growth of member registration through-out the country;
  • Lead the development of the Fund’s member registration and contribution guidelines, policies and direct implementation of the same, ensuring that they are in line with relevant legal and statutory guidelines and best practices;
  • Drive the identification of risks inherent in social security operations and articulate mitigating steps for addressing them in conjunction with the Risk Management
  • Ooversee the preparation of periodic reports on member registration and contribution collections;
  • Oversee the maintenance and management of information including membership, contribution and benefits databases;
  • Ensure the implementation of efficient data and records management systems that will guarantee the integrity of data and information resources;
  • Ensure effective management of the interfaces connecting head office operations, regional offices and branches; and
  • Establish policies, systems and processes to ensure the effective processing and payment of benefits;

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS /SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s Degree in Actuarial Science, Social Sciences, Business Administration, Law, Public Relations, Marketing or its equivalent from a recognized Institution;
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science, Social Science or Business Administration or Law or Public Relations or Marketing or its equivalent from a recognized Institution;
  • At least twelve (12) years’ relevant cumulative work experience with five (5) at a senior management position;

 

  • Membership to a relevant and accredited professional body and in good standing;
  • Leadership Course from a recognized institution or a Certificate in Corporate Governance;

The National Social Security Fund, NSSF, is a friendly service organization which exists for the public good. It offers social protection to all Kenyan workers. NSSF provides social security protection to workers in the formal and informal sectors. It registers members, receive their contributions, manage funds of the scheme, process and ultimately pay out benefits to eligible members or dependents.

List of NSSF Benefits Offered:

 

  • Eligibility: Members are eligible for this benefit when they reach the age of 55 years, or when they ultimately retire from regular employment.

How to apply: Visit your nearest NSSF office with:

  • A certified copy of your retirement letter OR certificate of service OR termination letter.
  • NSSF Membership Card
  • National Identity Card/ Passport/ Alien ID.
  • Bank details for EFT.

You will be issued with the appropriate application forms and advised on the steps to take in order to complete the benefits application.

  • Eligibility: Members are eligible for this benefit if they are at least 50 years of age and they have retired from regular paid employment.

How to apply: Visit your nearest NSSF office with the following documents:

  • A certified copy of your retirement letter OR certificate of service OR termination letter
  • NSSF Membership Card
  • National Identity Card/ Passport/ Alien ID.
  • Bank details for EFT.

You will be issued with the appropriate application forms and advised on the steps to take in order to complete the benefits application.

  • This benefit is paid to: Dependant(s) / relative(s) of a deceased member. The dependant relatives qualify for this benefit in the following order:

· The husband/wife of the deceased member.

· All children irrespective of age or gender (if the husband/wife of the deceased member is also deceased, or if the deceased member was a single parent).

· The parents of the deceased (if the deceased member was not married and had no children)

· Sisters/brothers of the deceased (if the deceased was single, had no children, and both parents are deceased)

· The guardian to the children of the deceased member (where both the parents are deceased and all the deceased members’ children are minors)

· An applicant who has letters of administration (where all dependants are exhausted)

This benefit is paid to:

  • Members who are certified to be permanently incapable of working because of physical or mental disability.
  • Members who are at least 50 years of age and suffer from a partial incapacity of a permanent nature that prevents them from undertaking employment.

This Benefit is paid to:

  • Members emigrating from Kenya to a country which is not a member of the East African Community, without the intention of returning to reside in Kenya.

NSSF Risk Management Manager Jobs Application Requirements, Qualifications

MANAGER, RISK MANAGEMENT

Reporting to the General Manager (Strategy, Research and Risk), he/she will be responsible for ensuring efficiency in all the areas of operations, management of risk and the development of risk management framework, designing, implementing, evaluating and reporting on the internal controls within the fund.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop Risk Management tools, practices, and policies to analyze and report on risks, and to manage risks according to an integrated risk management framework;
  • Ensure the organization’s risk management policies and strategies are in compliance with applicable regulations, rating agency standards, and strategic imperatives of the organization;
  • Establish the Risk Management architecture for the Fund;
  • Oversee or monitors all operational risk management activities of the organization;
  • Monitor and analyses risks within the Fund’s business units and reports on these risks to the Board;
  • Coordinate activities of forensic investigations in the Fund;
  • Develop the annual risk and compliance plan and present the same to the audit risk and compliance committee for approval;
  • Review and discuss the  annual risk plan  implementation strategy with the risk management team; and
  • Review and approve the risk assessment plan and review the progress of risk assessment assignments;

PROCEDURES ON HOW TO MAKE A CONTRIBUTION USING MPESA

The National Social Security Fund is a friendly service organization, which exists for
the public good. It offers social protection to all Kenyan workers. The Fund provides
social security protection to workers in the formal and informal sectors.

NSSF registers members, receives their contributions, manage funds of the scheme,
process and ultimately pay out benefits to eligible members or their dependants.

NSSF prudently invests its members’ savings in secure, high-yielding investments
such as government securities, real estate and shared equities.

You can now contribute directly into your NSSF account through M-PESA. This is a fast, easy and convenient way to increase your contributions through your mobile
phone.

Simply follow the instructions listed below to do so:

  1. Go to your M-PESA menu and select Payment Services
  2. Select Pay Bill in the M-PESA Menu
  3. Enter Business Number which is 333300
  4. Enter NSSF Number you wish to pay for
  5. Enter the amount you wish to pay for (Between Kshs. 200 – 70,000)
  6. Enter your M-PESA PIN
  7. Confirm details are correct and press OK
  8. You will Receive a text message confirming that the amount has been sent to NSSF.

Joining NSSF Easily: How to become a NSSF Member; Registration forms, requirements and process guide

The National Social Security Fund is a Kenyan government agency that is a Pension Scheme to which every Kenyan with an income shall contribute a percentage of his/her gross earnings so as to be guaranteed basic compensation in case of permanent disability, basic assistance to needy defendants in case of death and a monthly life pension upon retirement.

Membership

There are two types of NHIF members; Those in employment and voluntary ones.

How to Register as a member: In Employment

If you are in employment, all you need is to visit any NSSF Office closest to you with:

  • Your original National Identity Card (ID Card), Alien Card or Passport and a copy of it
  • An introduction letter from your employer (view sample)

We will record your details and register you. You will then be issued with an NSSF membership card. Your employer will require the NSSF Number on your card to enable them to make contributions to your account.

How to Register as a member: Voluntary

If you are in self employment, all you need is to visit any NSSF Office closest to you with:

  • Your original National Identity Card (ID Card), Alien Card or Passport and a copy of it
  • You will then pay a minimum amount of Ksh 200, as an initial contribution to activate your card

We will record your details and register you. You will then be issued with an NSSF membership card. You can then start contributing to your account at your nearest NSSF branch or through MPESAClick here to know how to contribute through MPESA
