<p>How it went down at St&period; Francis Mangu Marking Centre&colon;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>~Monday&colon; Examiners down their tools over poor pay and working conditions&period; They demanded that chief examiner be changed&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;~Tuesday&colon; Examiners insisted in protest that no marking will go on&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;~ KNEC officials tried to calm down the teachers but it fell on deaf ears&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;~ KNEC CEO assured the examiners that the Chief examiner has has been sent on parking&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;~ Examiners were adamant and insisted that what they were being paid was too low considering the straining they go through marking the paper&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;~TSC CEO&comma; Education CS and Education PS arrive at the marking centre later to calm the situation&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;~ TSC CEO Nancy Macharia tried to address the examiners but was chased away and was not able to make the address&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;~CS Machogu equally was not able to address the examiners and that&&num;8217&semi;s when anti riot police were called&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;~CS Machogu demanded that the examiners should leave the marking centre within 30 minutes&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;~ CS Machogu convined and urgent meeting&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;~Later in the evening&comma; KNEC placed an advert asking those who had trained as CRE examiners to apply&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;~Those &lpar;Examiners&rpar; who had tried to hang around in the hope that they will be allowed to continue marking were chased away&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;~The marking centre was closed&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;~ Currently&comma; the place is manned by riot police in full gear&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
