Kenya’s Copa Coca Cola boys’ champions, St. Anthony Boys High School- Kitale, were off to a flying start as the inaugural Africa Copa Coca Cola championship got underway in Nakuru, today. The soccer Championship which features boys who are under 16 years old kicked off this morning at Nakuru County, Kenya. The Kenyan youngsters beat Ethiopia 11-1 in a one sided opener that showed Kenya’s intention to win the maiden trophy.
Kenya’s Goals were netted by, Jacob Onyango (4 goals), Issa Rashid (3 goals), Fred Kandegi (2 goals), Harun Kibwot (1) and Daniel Onyango who also netted one goal to complete the route.
The 12 team championship has 4 groups of 3 teams each. Kenya is pooled in group A alongside: Ethiopia and Botswana. Group B has Nigeria, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Group C is composed of Uganda, Malawi and Mozambique. While, the last group (D) has Angola, South Africa and Tanzania. The local boys play their next game and last group game against Botswana on Wednesday, 12th December- 2018.

The winners from each group will qualify for the quarter finals slated for Thursday 13th December, 2018. Semis will be staged on Friday and finals on Saturday 15th December, 2018.
In the girls category, Kenya is represented by Moi Girls High school, Nangili, who outwitted Zimbabwe 2-0 in their opening clash, today.
