2026 KSSSA National Term 1 Games in Kisumu {Venues & Program).

The stage is set for the 2026 KSSSA (Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association) National Term 1 Games in Kisumu County. According to the program of events released by KSSSA Secretary General David Ngugi, the championship kicks off on Saturday 4th April with Referees’ Coordination Clinics. Apart from swimming and athletics referees, all other referees have been asked to report to Kisumu School on Saturday 4th before 8.00am.

The Athletics and Swimming Referees will travel with teams on Sunday April, 5th 2026. Their clinic is slated for Monday April 6th, 2026.

The teams will rest on Monday 6th with the opening ceremony happening on Tuesday at Jomo Kenyatta International Stadium in Mamboleo. Action will kick off from Tuesday 7th April to Saturday 11th April.

The students will compete in Rugby 15s, Basketball (5×5), Hockey, Handball, Athletics, Cross Country, and Swimming.

Venues

According to Ngugi, Swimming will be held at Aga Khan Educational Centre. While, Athletics, Hepta, Decca and x-country will be staged at Kisumu School.

Rugby 15’s will be held at two venues; Jomo Kenyatta International Stadium Mamboleo and kisumu Polytechnic.

All Basketball and Handball matches will be played in Kisumu Polytechnic.

1. Swimming- Aga Khan Educational Centre.
2. Athletics, Hepta, Decca and x-country at kisumu boys.
3. Rugby 15’s – 1 field at Jomo Kenyatta International Stadium Mamboleo and the other at kisumu Polytechnic.

5. Basketball 5×5 – Kisumu Polytechnic
6. Hockey – Kisumu Day
7. Girls’ accommodation – St. Theresa’s girls kisumu.
8. Boys’ accommodation – Kisumu Boys

Term 1 Games (Nationals – Kisumu): April 4th–12th, 2026.

1. Arrival of Teams: Sunday April 5, 2026.
2. Training Day for Teams: Monday 6th April.
3. Opening Ceremony: April 7, 2026 (Jomo Kenyatta International Stadium).
4. Action Days: Tuesday 7th April to Saturday 11th.
5. Closing Ceremony: Saturday 11th at Jomo Kenyatta International Stadium in Mamboleo, Kisumu.
4. Featuring: Rugby 15s, Athletics, Basketball (5×5), Hockey, Handball, Cross Country, Swimming.

How to access the KSSSA Portal, Add Players and Coaches: Best Guide

Wondering how to use the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association, KSSSA, Portal? Worry no more. The KSSSA Portal can be used to add new players, coaches and even transfer Kenyan, International and Foreign Students.

Here is a step by step guide on how to access the KSSSA Portal.

Step 1: Go to your browser like Chrome or Opera Mini on your Computer or mobile phone and enter this direct access link; https://ksssa.go.ke/. You can also click on this link.

Step 2: On the Login Screen, enter the School’s Nemis Code and password and click on Login. In case you have forgotten your password, select ‘Forgot Your Password?’ to reset it. If your school has not registered, click on ‘Register’.

Step 3: On a successful Login, you will see the following window:

Note that registration should be done once and preferably by the Head of the Games and Sporting Department.

How to Register a Coach.

Before assigning roles to coaches, you must register them first. Here is how to do it:

Step 1: From the ‘Dashboard’ click on ‘Records’ and then ‘Coach entry’. Now click on ‘Add Record’. You will get the window below:

Step 2: Enter the required details and click on ‘Save’.

How to assign a Coach.

The next step after registering is to assign coaches to the various disciplines. The Coaches will in turn add the players (team mebers).

Step 1: From the ‘Dashboard’ click on ‘Assign discipline, and then ‘Add Record’. You will get the window below:

Step 2: Select the discipline, discipline classification and then select coach. Finally, click on ‘Save’.

How to register Players on the KSSSA Portal.

It is now time to register Players/ Team Members on the KSSSA Portal.

Step 1: Head to the ‘Dashboard’ and Select, ‘Records’ and then ‘Team Members’. Now, select ‘Add Team Player’. You will get three options; Add Kenyan, Add Foreigner or Add International.

Step 2: After selecting the type of player, you will see the window below:

Step 3: Capture the details as required and then click on ‘Save’. Repeat this for all the Players and Teams.
