Moi Girls High School students on Wednesday staged a sit in and boycotted classes demanding the removal of the school principal Christine Chumba.
The students who held demonstration within the school and later camped at the school gate accused the principal of harassment and mistreatment of teachers.
The placard-waving students further accused the principal of ignoring them as well as claiming that corruption and mismanagement was rampant at the learning institution.
The students accused the school administration of indiscriminate felling of trees destroying the schools learning environment. They further accused the Principal of subjecting them to canning saying it is illegal.
Riot police and senior education officials are closely monitoring the situation and by the time of compiling this report the principal was in a closed door meeting with senior education officials.
The students have however not destroyed any school property.
Compiling the annual Corporate procurement and asset disposal plans;
Implementing the annual procurement and disposal plans and prepare quarterly implementation status reports;
Coordinating procurement and market surveys activities;
Preparing contract documents and coordinating suppliers’ performance appraisals.
Liaising with the user department to ensure effective implementation of contracts for goods, works and services;
Providing secretariat services to committees incidental to procurement of goods and services, and disposal of assets;
Overseeing periodic and annual stocktaking exercise;
Coordinating disposal of assets activities;
Preparing periodic statutory reports;
Maintaining and update pre-qualified suppliers list and contract management register;
Coordinating suppliers’ performance appraisals.
Job Specification:
Masters degree in Commerce, Business Administration (Supplies Management Option) from a recognized institution;
Bachelors degree in Commerce, Business Administration (Supplies Management Option) from a recognized institution;
Diploma in Supplies Management (CIPS) or its equivalent from a recognized Institution;
Must have served for a period of nine (9) years relevant work experience in a recognized institution;
Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks;
Membership to the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM);
Demonstrated merit in work performance;
Certificate in computer applications;
Fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Kenyan Constitution.

Kangaru High School was built by the first missionaries that arrived in Kenya during the colonial period in 1920s. Kangaru was later rebuilt on 1 January 1947 by Sir Robin Wainright on a Harambee basis. There was a village in the environ called Kangaru and it is where the school’s name originated.
In the year 1989, the school was split into separate institutions for boys and a girls school. The school has a population of about 1400 students with a teaching staff of about 60 individuals.

Education Cabinet Secretary Professor George Magoha has released 2020 the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results today. In the results the CS released information on the KCSE 2020 top 10 candidates nationally.

Most Improved Students from KCPE 2015
The CS gave the list of the most improved KCSE 2020 candidates in comparison to how they performed in 2016 KCPE examinations. he gave the names of their secondary schools and mean scores.
Also released is information on the well performed and poorly performed subjects in the KCSE 2020 examinations.
Magoha at the same time announced how the KCSE 2020 candidates performed. He read the number of candidates who scored grade A (plain), A-(minus), B+(plus), B(plain), B-(minus), C+(plus),C(plain), C-(minus),D+(plus),D(plain),D-(minus) and E.
As usual, CS Magoha did not release the ranking of schools in the 2020 KCSE examinations. This is because ranking of schools was outlawed.
Candidates who sat for the 2020 KCSE examinations can now get their results by sending an SMS with the full KCSE 2020 index number to 20076.
