Nigeria beats South Africa to retain the AWCON trophy

Its joy unlimited for the Nigeria’s women soccer team, Super Falcons after they beat South Africa’s Banyana Banyana 4-3 on post match penalties to retain the Confederation of African Foot’s African Women Cup of Nations, AWCON.

The tough final ended in a stalemate at 0-0 on regulation and after extra time.

Nigeria have now won the trophy a record nine times.

Nigeria’s Women Soccer team, Super Falcons, retained their AWCON tropphy after defeating South Africa’s Banyana Banyana, 4-3, on post match penalties.

The ruling party in South Africa, the African National Congress, has sent a congratulatory note to the country’s women soccer team, Banyana Banyana. This is after the team finished second at the just concluded Africa Women’s Cup of Nations, AWCON. Banyana Banyana lost 4-3 on post match penalties to holders, Nigeria in a tough final played yesterday.
