How to know whether a gas cylinder is genuine, not faulty- ERC

Are you looking to refill or buy a gas cylinder ?
The Energy Regulatory Commission, ERC, is mandated to protect energy consumers and has put in place measure to ensure safety of the LPG sector. Please look out for the following before purchasing or refilling a gas cylinder:
1. Ensure that the cylinder has a unique serial number

2. Ensure that the cylinder is within the validation period by checking on the cylinder’s collar where the last date for validation is stamped. The cylinder should not be more than 8 years old from your date of purchase.
3. Make sure the cylinder is weighed in your presence and that the weight corresponds with the one indicated on the cylinder

4. Ensure that the cylinder has no physical damage like dents and rust.
