<p>You need to be aware that Teacher Training Colleges are of two types; public and private TTCs. Public TTCs are owned and managed by the government, while Private ones are owned by individuals.</p>
<p>Depending on the type of institution, admissions are either done via the the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (<em>KUCCPS</em>), direct placement by the college or both.</p>

<h5><strong>Diploma in Early Childhood development and education (ECDE)</strong></h5>
<p>This course takes 6 holiday sessions and you must have the following minimum qualifications for you to be admitted:</p>
<ul>
<li>C plain in K.C.S.E. or P1 certificate or</li>
<li>Holder of certificate in ECDE</li>
<li>KNEC proficiency certificate for certificate in ECDE.</li>

<h5><strong>Certificate in early childhood development and Education (ECDE)</strong></h5>
<p>To pursue this course, you must meet the following minimum admission requirements:</p>

<h5 class="font_8"><strong><span style="color: #ff00ff;">DIPLOMA IN TEACHER EDUCATION COURSE (DTE)</span></strong></h5>
<p class="font_8">TTCs offer training for both Science (Diploma in Education Science) and Arts (Diploma in Education Arts) teachers. The diploma course lasts for 3 academic years. It is a pre-requisite from the Ministry of Education that aspiring secondary school teachers should have the below minimum KCSE qualifications for entry into DTE (Diploma in Teacher Education) course. Here are the latest general minimum requirements for students seeking to pursue teaching:</p>

<li class="font_8">Mean grade: C+ (plus)</li>
<li class="font_8">English: C (plain)</li>
<li class="font_8">Mathematics: D+ (plus) for those taking education arts and C (plain) for those hoping to undertake training in education science.</li>
