DETAILS ON THE ADVERTISED KUCCPS VACANCIES

SENIOR ASSISTANT PLACEMENT COORDINATION/CAREER SERVICES OFFICER, KUCCPS 7. FIVE (5) POSITIONS (Ref. Code KUCCPS 041/20)

Reporting to the Manager, Placement Coordination/Career Services the Officer will be responsible for administration and provision of information on Placement Coordination and Career Services at the following Huduma Centres: Trans Nzoia, Narok, Isiolo, Laikipia and Kiambu – Thika Centre.

Successful applicants will be hired on a two-year contract renewable on mutual agreement and subject to meeting set performance targets.

Key Responsibilities

1. Respond to queries about the services offered by the Placement Service;
2. Assist in guiding students on the application processes;
3. Receive Inter-Institution Transfers applications;
4. Assist in collecting data of registered eligible institutions and their programmes for placement;
5. Receiving and compiling returns and the declared capacities for universities and colleges programmes;
6. Assist in sensitising students on the relationship between career paths, programmes offered in universities and colleges, and subjects undertaken in schools;
7. Assist in collecting data for research, and for designing the mechanism and work plans for the provision of career guidance and counselling services;
8. Collect feedback from stakeholders on matters of placement and career development; and
9. Undertake any such additional duties that are reasonably commensurate with the level of this post.

Minimum Requirement

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must:-
1. Have attained a minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following fields:- Education, Business Administration, Public Administration, Social Studies or Development Studies or other relevant and equivalent qualifications from a recognised institution;
2. Be proficient in computer applications; and
3. Having experience in relevant work in the Public Service or Private Sector will be an added advantage;
4. Fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution on leadership and integrity.

PLACEMENT COORDINATION/CAREER SERVICES OFFICER, KUCCPS 6 – ONE POSITION
(Ref. Code KUCCPS 042/20)

Reporting to the Manager, Placement Coordination/Career Services the Officer will be responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of Career development programmes.

Successful applicant will be hired on pensionable terms.

Key Responsibilities

1. Collating and assisting in analysing feedback from stakeholders on matters of career development;
2. Sensitizing students on the relationship between career paths, programmes offered at universities and colleges, and subjects undertaken in schools;
3. Collecting data on the means used and areas covered during the sensitization;
4. Conducting career guidance and counseling services to teachers, parents and other stakeholders as per work plan;
5. Assist in designing the mechanism and work plans for the provision of career guidance and counseling services;
6. Analysing the specifications for use of information Communications Technology in career development.

Minimum Requirement

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must:-
1. Have three (3) years’ experience in relevant work in the Public Service or Private Sector;

SENIOR INTERNAL AUDITOR, KUCCPS 5 – ONE POSITIONS (Ref. Code KUCCPS 043/20)

The Senior Internal Auditor will be responsible to the Manager Internal Audit in the performance of his/her duties.
Successful applicant will be hired on pensionable terms.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assisting in the development of audit annual work plans, assignment plans and programmes;
2. Performing audit tests on the internal controls in accounting, administrative and operational procedures including information systems;
3. Ensuring that the audit findings are properly documented;
4. Preparing and issuing primary audit reports detailing audit findings;
5. Interpretation of financial control and management resolution of the Placement Service;
6. Reviewing and developing audit techniques and procedures for financial as well as comprehensive audits;
7. Expressing opinions on the adequacy, effectiveness and efficiency of all systems, control procedures in place to achieve established objectives and recommend corrective actions to improve operations, enhance internal control and reduce cost.
8. Assist in monitoring and auditing risk assessment exercises and the implementation of risk management guidelines; and
9. Preparing periodic audit reports.

Minimum Requirement

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must:-
1. Have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in relevant work in the Public Service or in the Private Sector;
2. Have a Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following fields: – Commerce, Economics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Business Administration, Finance or other relevant and equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution;
3. Be in possession of the following: CISA and CPA (K) or ACCA or any other relevant and equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution;

1. Overseeing the efficient coordination of the Strategy and Planning, Quality Assurance, Risk and Compliance departments;
2. Establishing and maintaining linkages with Consultants and other Stakeholders on Strategy, Planning Quality Assurance, Risk and Compliance matters;
3. Reviewing potential business proposals and concept papers for funding;
4. Coordinating the development and implementation of resource mobilization strategies;

Key Responsibilities

1. Developing and overseeing the implementation of a dynamic corporate strategy that is able to deliver exemplary services and results as envisioned in the strategic plan;
2. Developing the Placement Service’s budget and continuously monitor and evaluate its implementation;
3. Giving oversight to the Placement Service financial affairs and advise the Placement Service on financial planning strategies and policies;
4. Ensuring effective and efficient management of the Placement Service’s Resources including Finances and Assets;
5. Ensuring the provision of meaningful, accurate and prompt management accounts and reports to the Chief Executive Officer and the Board;
6. Negotiating with banks and donors for appropriate support;
7. Giving oversight to the Placement Service’s human capital affairs, ensuring that the Placement Service has the right and sufficient human resource to meet its objectives;
8. Ensuring that current and future space and other facility needs are provided for;
9. Providing oversight for effective records management operations;
10. Overseeing performance management system in the Placement Service;
11. Participating in the development and review of the Institution’s strategic plan;
12. Ensuring compliance with labour laws, public, Public Financial Management Act, IPSAS and IFRS and ISO Standards;
