I began this journey in 1994 as a teacher, and I understand the heartbeat of the classroom. Now, in this leadership position, my focus is to ensure teacher welfare, discipline, and deployment are managed with fairness and transparency.
Even as the nation awaits the appointment of a permanent CEO, I assure all stakeholders that the Commission’s mandate will continue to be executed effectively. Our teachers are the backbone of education, and we must support them to thrive in a rapidly evolving world”. Acting TSC Chief Executive Officer Eveleen Mitei.

I am proceeding on Terminal Leave with effect from today, 1st June, 2025, pending my retirement from the Teachers Service Commission on 30th June, 2025, after serving the Commission in various capacities.
I wish to take this opportunity to thank you most sincerely for the
dedication, commitment and the unwavering support you accorded me during my tenure as the Commission Secretary/Chief Executive Officer.
It has been an incredible privilege and honour to lead such a team of talented professionals in managing the affairs of our great Country on matters related to the teaching service.
It is as a result of your devotion to duty that, collectively, we have been
able to navigate several challenges and achieve significant milestones in transforming the teaching service, and enhancing service delivery to our stakeholders.
As I transition into the next chapter of my professional life, I have been reflecting on the solid and firm foundation that we have built together and, honestly, I leave with a heart full of profound gratitude for everything we have accomplished.
I am extremely proud of you not just as employees of the Commission but also as an outstanding team. I urge you to keep working hard, continue
delivering services that reflect the best out of you and protect the core values of our institution.
Looking to the future, I am confident that you will accord my successor, the management team and the Commission’s Board the necessary support in steering the Commission to even greater heights.
In the meantime, note that the Commission has appointed Ms. Evaleen Mitei, to act as the Commission Secretary/CEO pending the appointment of my successor.
I urge you to accord her the necessary support.
