The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has now uploaded the sample papers for the Kenya Junior Secondary Education Assessment (KJSEA), marking a significant step in the preparation for the inaugural national examinations.
The KJSEA Exams will be done by Grade 9 leaners. The KJSEA will play a significant role in shaping students’ future career paths. Upon Grade 9 also known as Junior Secondary School, students will progress to Senior Secondary School (SSS), where they will select their career pathways.
The release of these sample papers comes as part of the ongoing transition to the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC), which emphasizes the development of practical skills and knowledge over rote memorization.
KNEC has encouraged all schools to download the sample papers from the CBA portal to ensure they are fully prepared for the KJSEA.
The KJSEA, which will replace the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) is designed to offer a more comprehensive evaluation of students’ academic abilities.
