Knec sends schools the 2023 KCSE and KCPE Certificates.
The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has declared that the certificates for the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidates have been sent out.
In a statement published on X, KNEC stated that the certificates have been disseminated throughout the nation via Sub-County Directors of Education.
The council stated that “candidates are advised to liaise with the schools where they sat the examinations to collect the certificates.”
In addition, the KNEC cautioned that it is against the law for any institution to refuse to give a candidate their certificate, and advised students who are experiencing such problems to contact the Sub-County Directors of Education for help.
The Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba’s directive on March 24, 2025, cautioned school principals against refusing certificates for any cause, such as outstanding tuition or missing belongings, is what follows.
According to Ogamba, it is against the law to keep a student’s certificate after they finish their education, regardless of whether it is due to unpaid fees, missing books, or damaged property.
He gave a 14-day deadline for the release of all held certificates, stressing that schools should look for other ways to collect any unpaid obligations.
