<p><strong>TSC Minimum Requirements for Teacher Registration</strong></p>
<p>Entry into the teaching service, especially under the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) umbrella, is a desire for many teachers.</p>
<p>But the question on what it takes to join the Commission is still a lingering issue, with some failing to make the cut because of lack of the requisite qualifications.</p>
<p>Thus, in this article, we highlight the academic and professional qualifications one needs to join the service as an employee of the Commission.</p>
<p>Individuals interested in joining the teaching profession can do so through the following entry grades: Early Childhood Development and Education (ECDE), PTE, Diploma in Education, Diploma in Education for Visually and hearing impaired, Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science, which have varying requirements.</p>

<ol>
<li>Minimum of CPE/KCPE plus ECDE Certificate from KNEC.</li>
<li>Minimum mean grade D+(Plus) at KCSE and ECDE Certificate from KNEC.</li>
<li>Minimum mean grade D (Plain) at KCSE, KNEC proficiency certificate, ECDE Certificate from KNEC Diploma.</li>

<h3>ECDE <span style="font-size: 16px;">Diploma</span></h3>
<ol>
<li>Mean grade C (Plain) at KCSE and ECDE Certificate from KNEC.</li>
<li>Mean grade C+ (Plus) and above for University Diploma.</li>
</ol>
<h3>Degree</h3>
<p>Mean grade C+ (Plus) and above.</p>
<h3>PTE</h3>
<ol>
<li>Minimum grade C Plain in KCSE and above.</li>
<li>PTE Certificate from KNEC.</li>
<li>Mean grade of C- (minus) for visually and hearing impaired persons.</li>
</ol>
<h3>Diploma in Education</h3>

<li>Minimum grade C+( Plus) in KCSE and above and C+ (Plus) in the two subjects specialization.</li>
<li>At least C (Plain) in English.</li>
<li>C (plain) in Mathematics for science-based courses.</li>
<li>D+( plus) in mathematics in non-science based courses.</li>

<h3><strong>Bachelor</strong> of Education</h3>
<ol>
<li>Minimum mean grade C+ (plus) and above or its equivalent.</li>
<li>C+ (Plus) in two subjects of specialization.</li>
</ol>
<h3>Bachelor of Arts/Science</h3>
<ol>
<li>Minimum grade C+ (Plus) in KCSE and above and C+ (Plus) in the two subjects of specialization.</li>
<li>Post graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE).</li>
