The Legendary Zimbabwean Musician passed away today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mtukudzi’s record label Gallo Records confirmed the news on Wednesday afternoon but said there were no details available.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The musician’s family is set to release a statement later this afternoon.\u00a0Below are  images of the fallen music icon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"275\" height=\"183\" src=\"https:\/\/newsblaze.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/IMG_20190123_181142.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6959\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"350\" height=\"308\" src=\"https:\/\/newsblaze.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/IMG_20190123_181136.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6957\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>‘Tuku’, as he was popularly known to his fans, died after battling a long illness. He passed away at the Avenues Clinic in Harare, Zimbabwe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> Mtukudzi was also quite outgoing about his positive HIV status and wrote several songs including\u00a0<em>Todii\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0<em>Tapera,\u00a0<\/em>which spoke of the scourge of the disease in Africa and especially among young people.
