We also come to know God more through the teachings recorded in both the Old and New Testaments<\/p>\n As students, we face a lot of dilemmas on moral questions involving matters such as attraction to opposite sex, temptation to steal etc. CRE gives us the basis of making such choices based on Christian Principles.<\/p>\n In order to live in peace and harmony with others CRE helps us learn and appreciate their religion and respect their cultures and faiths<\/p>\n This is summed up in the Ten Commandments and in the teachings of Jesus Christ<\/p>\n As Christians, we should appreciate every person in every part of the world as God\u2019s creation.<\/p>\n Through CRE we learn and acquire some values and attitudes which in turn transform us.<\/p>\n CRE forms a foundation for further \u00a0\u00a0studies and career training<\/p>\n Some life questions such as why we exist, why people die and what happens after death are answered through CRE<\/p>\n National goals of education deal with the improvement of life and include:-<\/p>\n <\/p>\n In conclusion, CRE makes a contribution to the total development of a person-morally, spiritually, emotionally, physically, intellectually and socially<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Bible is a book accepted by Christians as the written word of God through which God communicates to them.<\/p>\n It is also referred to as the inspired word of God. <\/strong>This means that what was written was what God intended them to communicate to other people. God\u2019s power worked through the writers controlling what was being written.<\/p>\n It contains the history of salvation, that is, God\u2019s purpose in creating and redeeming human through Jesus Christ<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The authors of the Bible were under direct influence of God and they wrote what God wanted them to write. Some books were written by prophets like Nehemiah, Ezra and Isaiah. Luke\u2019s gospel was written by Luke the disciple of Jesus, while Paul wrote various letters to different churches such as Corinth.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Literally forms are the different styles that the authors of the Bible used in writing it. Some of the literally forms used were:-<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n A library is a collection of books. The Bible is referred to as a library because:-<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Bible has two major sections:-<\/p>\n The word Testament <\/strong>means covenant.<\/strong><\/p>\n The Bible has 66 books, which have been accepted by Christians all over the world as the word of God<\/p>\n 39 of the books are in the Old Testament while 27 books are in the New Testament.<\/p>\n Some Bibles used by the Roman Catholic Church such as Common Bible<\/strong> and the Jerusalem Bible <\/strong>contain 45 books in the Old Testament. The six extra books are commonly referred to as Deutro-Canonical <\/strong>or books of apocrypha.<\/strong><\/p>\n The word apocrypha means hidden <\/strong>or secret<\/strong>. These books are:-<\/p>\n The books accepted by all Christians, make up the Canon<\/strong> (a Greek word meaning rule, standard or guidance) of the Old and New Testament<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n THE OLD TESTAMENT BOOKS<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n The Old Testament Books are grouped into four major sections. These are:<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/u><\/p>\n These are first five books of the Bible. They are also referred to as the Torah <\/strong>(meaning law) or the Pentateuch <\/strong>which means five. These books are:-<\/p>\n They contain the law of God to the Israelites. They also contain the history of the Israelites from creation to the time they entered the Promised Land, Canaan.<\/p>\n These contain the history of the Israelites from the time they entered and settled in the Promised Land to the period after the exile. They are 12 <\/strong>in number. These books are:-<\/p>\n\n
