{"id":25831,"date":"2024-12-20T19:56:10","date_gmt":"2024-12-20T16:56:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsblaze.co.ke\/?p=25831"},"modified":"2023-07-28T06:07:36","modified_gmt":"2023-07-28T03:07:36","slug":"kmtc-kabarnet-campus-physical-location-courses-requirements-how-to-apply-and-contacts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblaze.co.ke\/kmtc-kabarnet-campus-physical-location-courses-requirements-how-to-apply-and-contacts\/","title":{"rendered":"KMTC Kabarnet Campus (Physical location, Courses, Requirements, How to apply and Contacts)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) Kabarnet Campus is situated in Baringo County within Baringo County Referral Hospital, approximately 1.5 kilometers from Baringo County Headquarters.<\/p>\n<p>The history of Kabarnet Campus dates back to 1991 when it was established as a Medical Training Center at the then Baringo District Development Institute (BDDI), now Baringo Kenya School of Government (K.S.G).<\/p>\n<p>During the same period, the Government of Kenya through the Ministry of Health had proposed to build Kabarnet Medical Training Center, now KMTC Kabarnet Campus, on an eight-acre plot set aside adjacent to Kabarnet District Hospital (now Baringo County Referral and Teaching Hospital). The project commenced in 1991 with the then Rift Valley Provincial Commissioner Mr. Yusuf Haji laying the foundation stone on 22<sup>nd<\/sup>\u00a0May 1991.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Programmes and Courses offered<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Certificate in Enrolled Community Health Nursing<\/li>\n<li>Diploma in Enrolled Community Health Nursing<\/li>\n<li>Diploma in Clinical Medicine<\/li>\n<li>Certificate in Nutrition and Dietetics<\/li>\n<li>Certificate in Environmental Health Sciences<\/li>\n<li>Diploma in Environmental Health Sciences<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Facilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The facilities available include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Well-stocked library<\/li>\n<li>Computer and skills laboratories<\/li>\n<li>Spacious classrooms<\/li>\n<li>Modern hostels<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Clinical experience sites<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Baringo County Referral and Teaching Hospital provides the main clinical experience site for our students.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Students population<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Current number of students is 952 with the number expected to increase in the next intake.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Clubs, Societies and sports<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Campus offers a variety of sports such as netball, football, rugby, hockey, basketball, darts and indoor games. <strong>www.kmtc.ac.ke.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The prospective candidates apply for admission into courses for each academic year for Regular or Parallel Category.<\/p>\n<p>The Regular category have subsidized fee with optional accommodation but no choice for campus while the parallel category have non subsidized fee, no accommodation option but have option for campuses choice in more than sixty five (65) campuses situated in different parts of the country depending on the courses.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Application Procedure:<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Prospective candidates are expected to visit the applicants\u2019\u00a0<strong>portal<\/strong>, read the advertisement to know the various courses and
