The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) is a State Corporation established by an Act of Parliament, under the Ministry of Health, entrusted with the role of training various disciplines in the health sector to serve the Kenyan interests, East Africa and beyond.   1. MANAGER, RESOURCE MOBILIZATION, JOB GRADE KMTC 3 (1 POST) TERMS OF SERVICE: 3 YEAR CONTRACT

(a)  Job Summary

Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail – Developing and reviewing institutional development policies, plans and strategies; spearheading the establishment of income generating programs and projects in collaboration with stakeholders; collaborating in areas of research work, professional development, uptake of new technology and resource mobilization in liaison with institutions of higher learning; facilitating partnership promotions and mobilizing resources from donor communities, educational institutions, business entities, foundations, alumni association and government agencies; overseeing development of proposals for

 

 

income generating projects; managing activities of College Alumni programmes; organizing marketing of medical training programmes in liaison with Corporate Communications office; facilitating funding of capital projects through public private partnerships; and coordinating implementation of College income generating projects to enhance revenue generation.

(b)    Professional qualifications and experience

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

  • Served in the grade of Deputy Manager, Resource mobilization or in a relevant and comparable position in the Public Service or private sector organization for a minimum period of ten (10) years with at least five (5) years’ experience in a Management capacity;

(ii)          Bachelors degree in any Social Sciences or its equivalent from a recognized institution;

  • Masters degree in any Social Science or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
  • Certificate in consultancy/resource mobilization from a recognized institution;
  • Leadership course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
  • Proficiency in Computer applications;

  1. PLANNING MANAGER, JOB GRADE KMTC 3 (1 POST)

(a)  Job Summary

An officer at this level will be responsible to the Deputy Director (Finance, Planning and Administration) for the general direction of the economic planning function and production of statistical data at the College; implementing and appraising College projects, preparation of institutional development plans, strategies, policies and programmes; collection, collation, analysis and presentation of statistical data in the form of survey reports and bulletins; direction, control and coordination of planning activities within the College; and coordination of staff development and training activities within the unit.

(b)   Professional qualifications and experience

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

  • Served at the level of Deputy Planning Manager or in a comparable position in the Public Service or a reputable Private sector organization for at least ten (10) years with at least five (5) years’ experience in a Management capacity;
  • Bachelors degree in Economics, or Economics and Mathematics, or Economics and Statistics from a recognized institution;
  • Masters degree in Economics, or Economics and Mathematics, or Economics and Statistics from a recognized institution;

(a)   Job Summary

The Internal Audit Manager will head the Internal Audit Unit and will be responsible administratively to the Chief Executive Officer and functionally to the Board for the Internal Audit functions. Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: provide leadership in the Unit, manage and execute the internal audit activity, coordinate specific processes to support the implementation and execution of the audit, monitoring compliance, preparing and presenting audit findings and recommendations to the Board, and providing assurance of compliance with statutory requirements. In addition the Officer will be required to reView audit guidelines and systems.

 

  • Professional qualifications and experience

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

(i)      Served in the grade of Deputy Internal Audit Manager Grade KMTC 4 or in a comparable position or relevant position in the Public Service or in a reputable private sector organization for a minimum period of ten (10) years with three years’ experience in a Management capacity;

(ii)      Masters degree in Business Administration / Masters of Science in Auditing

and Consultancy or its equivalent;

  • Bachelor of Commerce degree (Accounting/ Finance) option and holds  a post graduate Diploma in Auditing or have CPA final or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) IV or its equivalent;
  • Have attended a leadership Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized

institution;

  • Been registered and in good standing by the Institute of Internal  Auditors (IIA) or Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK); and
  • Have demonstrated   administrative   capabilities   and   a   high           degree             of

competence    in    planning,    conducting    and    supervising                      financial           and management audits as well as running an audit unit effectively.

Duties and responsibilities at this level will involve driving a motor vehicle as authorized; carrying out routine checks on the vehicle’s cooling, oil, electrical and brake systems, tyre pressure; carrying out minor repairs including oiling and greasing; detecting and reporting  malfunctioning of vehicle  systems;  maintenance of work tickets for vehicles assigned; ensuring security and safety for the vehicle on and off the road; ensuring safety of the passengers and/or goods therein; and maintaining cleanliness of the vehicle.
