AN ADDENDUM TO GUIDELINES FOR THE RECRUITMENT OF TEACHERS (A), POST PRIMARY INSTITUTIONS – 2022/2023 FINANCIAL YEAR (CIRCULAR NO. 15/2022)

General Information

  1. TSC Sub-County Directors in liaison with their respective TSC County Directors MUST ensure that venues for selection process are accessible to applicants with

 

  1. Upon generation of Applicants’ Lists from, the TSC County Director shall share the lists with the TSC Sub-County Directors. The TSC Sub-County Directors shall convene the Sub-County Selection Panel(s). The Selection Panel(s) shall identify interview venues, dates and time which shall be communicated to the TSC Headquarters for verification and publishing on the TSC

 

  • All the applicants shall be invited for the verification of documents. The applicants shall be informed of the interview venue, date and time through the publishing on the TSC Website at least seven (7) day from the date of

 

  1. In the event of a tie in the ranking, consideration for selection shall be determined in the following order:
    1. Length of stay since graduation;
    2. Strength of academic and professional certificates

 

N/B: If applicants tie at PTE/DPTE Upgrade Certificate points, aggregate KCSE grades or its equivalent shall be considered.

TSC Recruitment 2023 – Number of slots per County, Subject

Kitui county will get the highest number of new teachers of the 35,550 to be recruited by the Teachers Service Commission, TSC. The County will get a sum total of 1,475 new teachers. Out of this, 434 will be employed on permanent and pensionable terms while the rest will be interns.

2023 TSC final changes on recruitment, deployment of PnP and intern teachers

Kakamega County comes second and will get a total of 1,449 new teachers followed by Nakuru (1,223), Bungoma (1,208), Meru (1,120) while Makueni is set to have 1,056 tutors expected to address the acute shortage.

Other counties that experience high shortages include Machakos which will have 1,050 additional teachers in January, Kisii (995), Homa Bay (975) and Narok (912).

Isiolo will get 119 new teachers, Lamu (131), Samburu (175), Marsabit (191), both Mombasa and Tana River counties will have 192 tutors, Wajir (238) and Taita Taveta shall get 274 teachers.

Teachers with a combination of kiswahili and CRE, english, history and CRE, kiswahili and history, business studies, mathematics and physics, mathematics and chemistry, and mathematics and biology will be the hot cakes during this recruitment drive.

“Successful candidates will be posted to serve in any primary or junior secondary school in the county where they were interviewed or in any part of the county where the vacancy exists,” said TSC. Those interested have up to Friday to submit their applications.

ROADMAP FOR RECRUITMENT OF TEACHERS AND TEACHER INTERNS – DECEMBER 2022

The Teachers Service Commission, TSC, has released the Roadmap for recruitment of teachers and teacher interns – December 2022/January 2023.

According to the revised road-map, interviews for recruitment will be county based and is to be done between Friday 13th January, 2023 and Monday 23rd January, 2023.

The recruited teachers will report to schools on Wednesday 1st February, 2023.
