It is the same body that selects and places students to higher learning institutions; Universities, Colleges and Polytechnics. To qualify for University placement one must attain the minimum set Mean grade and particular course requirements. Each Course offered at particular university has its own cluster cut off points, though. Most university courses take a minimum of 4 years; while, some take even more. An academic year at the university takes two semesters of three months each. University students get fees loans from various organizations. Top on the list is the Higher Education Loans Board, HELB, that advances both loans and Bursaries. Universities run online platforms; portals and websites, where such services as admission application, online accommodation booking, E-learning, exams results downloads and many are provided to students, staff and the general public. On admissions, most universities have admissions in May and September for new students. Various learning modules are provided at the universities. These learning modules include: Full time, School Based, Distance Learning, Evening & Weekend classes and E-Learning.

Apply for Scholarships from the Government of Hungary 2021/2022

The Government of Hungary has offered One Hundred (100) Undergraduate, Masters and PHD scholarships for the 2021/2022 academic year.

Eligible Kenyan students can apply for scholarships in the following areas of study:

  • Undergraduate (BA/BSc) studies in the fields of Agricultural Science, Computer Science and Information Technology, Economic Science, Engineering Science, Health Science, Sport Science and Natural Science;
  • Master’s (MA/MSc) studies in the fields of Agricultural Science, Computer Science and Information Technology, Legal Science, Economic Science, Engineering Science, Medical and Health Science and Natural Science;
  • Doctoral (PhD/DLA) studies in any field of interest;
  • One-tier master’s (OTM) studies in the fields of general medicine, dentistry, pharmacology, architecture, and veterinary medicine.

NB: One-Tier Masters (OTM) covers both Bachelor and the Master’s levels.

SCHOLARSHIP DETAILS

The study programmes and Host Institutions are accessible on the online application system’s website: (https://apply.stipendiumhungaricum.hu/).

The scholarship covers Tuition fee, Accommodation, Medical Insurance and a monthly stipend. Please note that these provisions do not fully cover all the costs of living in Hungary but are only a contribution to the living expenses.

Eligibility

A. Undergraduate

a) Minimum KCSE Mean Grade of B (plain).
b) Not more than 25 years of age.
c) Grade “B” in core subjects in the preferred field of study.
d) Completed Secondary Education in the last three (3) years.
e) Have original KCSE certificate.

B. Postgraduate

(i) Graduated with a Bachelor’s degree upper second class honors level.
(ii) For PhD, applicants must have a relevant Master’s Degree.
(iii) Are below thirty eight (38) years for Masters and forty five (45) years for PhD.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

1. Preliminary application forms are obtainable from the Ministry of Education offices at Telposta Towers, 27th floor Room 2702. The application forms can also be downloaded from the Ministry’s website: http://www.education.go.ke

2. All applicants must also submit their application through the online application system of Tempus Public Foundation. After registration, the applicants are able to access the application surface and upload the required documents. Please note that no application will be accepted without the online submission.

The deadline for submission of the complete application package of online application to the Tempus Public Foundation is 15th January 2021 (23:59 Central European Time).

3. Doctoral candidates are advised to visit website (http://www.doktori.hu) before applying.

4. Students applying for doctoral program must have a supervisor at the host university. A statement of acceptance issued by the supervisor must be attached to the application.

5. Candidates who are in service should submit their application forms through their Heads of Departments and attach the recommendation letter.

  • Application forms may be obtained from the University Main Campus at Kitere hill admissions office or through our website APPLICATION-FORM.
  • Non-refundable application fee of Kshs 500 for diploma/certificate, Kshs 1000 for undergraduate Kshs 2000 for post graduate programmes.
  • The application fee may be paid by Direct Deposit at any KCB or National Bank Branch into the Rongo University College Account. CASH and postal orders WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
  • The completed application forms, copies of relevant academic certificates, copies of the application fees receipt should be returned or sent to Director, Privately Sponsored Students Programme (PSSP).

Universities are the highest learning institutions in Kenya and the World over. They offer training majorly in undegraduate and Post Graduate Studies. In Kenya, the Courses offered in the Universities must be accredited by the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Services, KUCCPS. It is the same body that selects and places students to higher learning institutions; Universities, Colleges and Polytechnics. To qualify for University placement one must attain the minimum set Mean grade and particular course requirements. Each Course offered at particular university has its own cluster cut off points, though. Most university courses take a minimum of 4 years; while, some take even more. An academic year at the university takes two semesters of three months each. University students get fees loans from various organizations. Top on the list is the Higher Education Loans Board, HELB, that advances both loans and Bursaries. Universities run online platforms; portals and websites, where such services as admission application, online accommodation booking, E-learning, exams results downloads and many are provided to students, staff and the general public. On admissions, most universities have admissions in May and September for new students. Various learning modules are provided at the universities. These learning modules include: Full time, School Based, Distance Learning, Evening & Weekend classes and E-Learning.

Bachelor of Science in    Agricultural Education and   Extension K.C.S.E mean grade of C+ and C or above in Biology or Biological Sciences or Agriculture, Chemistry or Physics/Physical Sciences or Mathematics. Additionally, a fourth subject besides the above mentioned may come from any of the following subjects: Geography, Home science,Woodwork, Metalwork, Building Construction, Power Mechanics, Electricity, Drawing and Design, Aviation Science, Computer and Business Studies; OR Holders of KACE, or equivalent with a minimum of 2 Principal passes in Biology and Chemistry and at least a pass in Mathematics or a Mathematics credit at ordinary level where Mathematics was not offered at A-Level; OR Holders of Diploma in Agricultural Sciences from an Institution recognized by CUE and the University Senate with credit or distinction, with KCSE mean grade of C or above; OR Holders of a Higher National Diploma or equivalent in Biological or other related Agricultural Sciences from an institution recognized by CUE and the University Senate; OR Holders of a degree in Biological Sciences or related Sciences from an institution recognized by CUE and the University Senate.

  • All application forms can be obtained from the Registrar, Murang’a University of Technology upon payment of a non‐refundable fee of K.Shs. 500/= for Craft courses, K.Shs. 1000/= for Diploma courses and K.Shs. 1,500 for Degree courses. 
  • Payments should be made either in Cash or Bankers Cheque in favor of Murang’a University of Technology.

TEACHERS SERVICE COMMISSION (TSC) REQUIREMENTS FOR PROSPECTIVE TEACHERS

Students registering for a Bachelor of Education degree programme should be informed that:
  • the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) which is the Commission mandated by law to register and employ teachers requires prospective teachers to have a minimum mean grade C+ and above at KCSE,
  • the prospective student teacher to have also earned a minimum grade C+ in the selected two teaching subjects, and
  • have attended and passed at least 8 course units in each of the two (2) teaching subjects at the University.
