Full list of best performing mixed secondary schools per county for all counties

Apart from National schools, Extra County schools are also very good schools in terms of facilities and performance in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education, KCSE, examinations. Most of the schools produce excellent results in KCSE exams and compete favourably with the National schools.

Whereas most parents/ guardians prefer single sex schools (Boys or Girls’ schools), there are a few mixed schools that post good results in KCSE exams.

These schools are found all over the country. They admit the best students from the County where they are established and also countrywide. Form one selection to these schools is done by the Ministry of Education.

TSC press statement on application for the posts of 2019 Teachers Interns for Primary and secondary schools

The Teachers Service Commission, TSC, has come out to give an explanation on the difficulties experienced in the application for the intern posts, online. Here is the Presser from the Commission;


On 8th October, 2019, the Teachers Service Commission advertised for 10,300 teacher internship posts for Primary and Secondary Schools. Applications for the positions is being done through an on line platform https://www.tsc.co.ke. To-date, over 97,736
applications have been received for Secondary Schools and 5,182 for Primary School vacancies.

The Commission has however received some concerns from applicants who have experienced difficulties in making the application. In view of this, the Commission wishes to respond as follows: –

I. The difficulties experienced by some applicants were as a result of too many applicants trying to access the system at the same time. This overloaded the system, making it difficult to make the application especially on the first day.
II. The Commission has increased the capacity of the system to allow more applicants to apply concurrently. This will ensure such challenges are not experienced in future.
III. To give room for all interested applicants to make their applications, the Commission has extended the deadline by one (1) day. Accordingly, the closing date for the applications has now been moved from Wednesday 23rdto Thursday 24th October 2019.
IV. Applicants can seek assistance through TSC Help Desk that can be reached on 0202892050/0202892052.

Interested applicants are encouraged to take advantage of the remaining seven (7) days to make their applications. Any inconvenience caused is highly regretted. The Commission remains committed to attain fairness and transparency in the recruitment exercise.

AN ADDENDUM TO GUIDELINES FOR THE RECRUITMENT OF TEACHER INTERNS – PRIMARY SCHOOLS (A) – 2022/2023 FINANCIAL YEAR (CIRCULAR NO. 17/2022)

 

General Information

  1. TSC Sub-County Directors in liaison with their respective TSC County Directors MUST ensure that venues for selection process are accessible to applicants with

 

  1. Upon generation of Applicants’ Lists from, the TSC County Director shall share the lists with the TSC Sub-County Directors. The TSC Sub-County Directors shall convene the Sub-County Selection Panel(s). The Selection Panel(s) shall identify interview venues, dates and time, which shall be communicated to the TSC Headquarters for verification and

 

  • All the applicants shall be invited for the verification of documents. The applicants shall be informed of the interview venue, date and time through the publishing on the TSC Website at least seven (7) day from the date of
  1. The verification exercise shall be conducted at the Sub-County level through the TSC Sub-County Selection Panel under the leadership of the TSC Sub- County After the verification exercise, the TSC Sub-County Director shall compile a Merit List of all applicants whose documents have been verified. The Merit Lists shall be used to recruit teachers and any subsequent recruitment within the financial year.
  2. In the event of a tie in the ranking, consideration for selection shall be determined in the following order:
    1. Length of stay since graduation;
    2. Strength of academic and professional certificates

N/B: If applicants tie at PTE/DPTE Upgrade Certificate points, aggregate KCSE grades or its equivalent shall be considered.
