17 year old candidate delivers as 2023 National Exams get underway

<p>A 17-year-old girl at Ung’atani Primary School in Kathozweni Sub County gave birth to a baby girl at the Makueni County Referral Hospital last night&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The standard 8 pupil gave birth in the Mother and Child section at 9 p&period;m&period; on Sunday and is said to be in good health with her baby&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;The girl is in good health&comma; and she is sitting for mathematics paper this morning and later English and composition&comma;” said Makueni County Director of Education &lpar;CDE&rpar; Mr&period; Charles Nyakundi while talking to KNA on the telephone on Monday&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Nyakundi said that the centre managers in the nine subcounties across the county have collected the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education &lpar;KCPE&rpar;&comma; and the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment &lpar;KPSEA&rpar; kicked off well without any problems&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>He further added that transport arrangements&comma; security&comma; supervisors&comma; and invigilators are all ready to conduct the examinations in the county&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Meanwhile&comma; parents&comma; teachers&comma; and pupils in Makueni Sub County who will engage in examination malpractices will face dire consequences from the government&comma; area Deputy County Commissioner Mr&period; Joel Mwangala has warned&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Mwangala gave the warning outside the Makueni County Commissioner’s office in Wote town while issuing KCPE and KPSEA examination papers to centre managers on Monday morning&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;Parents&comma; teachers&comma; and pupils should not try to cheat during examinations&period; You will find the examination is fake&comma; there will be costs&comma; and you risk being arrested and prosecuted&comma;” warned Mwangala&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;This should be rebuked strongly&comma; and we don’t want people to even try&comma;” reiterated the administrator&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Present at the distribution container were Makueni Sub-County Director of Education Yobesh Onduso Magara and his counterpart&comma; Teachers Service Commission &lpar;TSC&rpar; Edward Dzani&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>It should be observed that 26&comma;835 and 34&comma;794 and 30&comma;149 candidates will sit for the KPSEA&comma; KCPE&comma; and KCSE examinations&comma; respectively&comma; in the county&period; Currently&comma; languages like French and German&comma;  besides home science&comma; are ongoing in secondary school&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>KCSE&comma; on the other hand&comma; begins on November 6th and runs through November 24th&comma; 2023&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
