The Kisumu Moran Geography Workshop is here with us. The Moran Geography Association is a group of distinguished group of Geography Teachers, Authors and Examiners. It is a team of dedicated teachers who have produced good results consistently for a long period of time in the Kenya National Examination Council (KCSE) exams.
In light of this, Geography teachers from all corners of the Country are invited to a two- days National Geography Workshop scheduled for 21st and 22nd February, 2019; during the Half Term Break. The training shall be held at Kisumu Boys’ High School; at the heart of Kisumu City.
The training will cover the following areas, among others:-
i. Current teaching and setting standards
ii. Effective marking of Test items tests,
iii. Elimination of low grades that is C plain and below
This will be done by Geography experts from Geography Paper 1 and 2 with facilitation from experienced Geography text book writers will facilitate.
There will also be sharing of experiences from teachers from best practices on:
- Early syllabus coverage,
- Revision strategies,
- Simplifying geography
- Increasing the enrollment in Geography at school level
The model teachers will be drawn from:
- Alliance Girls High School
- Maranda High school
- St. Antonys’ Kitale
- .Molo Academy
- Kabarak High School
- Moi Girls – Eldore
- Kisumu Boys’
REGISTRATION FEE
Kshs.2,500/-per teacher will be charged to cater for stationery, meals (10 a’clock tea and lunch) certification and facilitation.
